2-3 shots to start (liquor only) and then 1 shot every half hour with bottled water in between. Maintains a nice buzz and keeps you hydrated.
I drink Mi ties and go to the OXXO and get a big bottle of sprite, unless I end up at Wal-Mart and 2 600 mg IBprofrans I'm good to go. If that don't work 2 shot right when I wake in my coffee
Thanks for the heads up. Now I have no explanation for the lack of hangover. I have never heard of Fresca not being sugar free. I had just assumed it was everywhere.
We don’t drink like pros. We drink like amateurs. Here’s how that works: Whoever’s turn it is in our expanding group of friends (not that we keep track of turns that closely) goes to the bar and brings back a round of WHATEVERS. They always bring back a couple extra WHATEVERS, so we have to recruit random strangers to drink the extras. Like so: “Hey you! Hot person! Want to do a WHATEVER with us? Of course you do! Get over here!” Oddly enough, I wake up with an impressive headache every morning. But that’s OK, because after a few “breakfast drinks,” the headache is replaced by a sense of wonder, a feeling that EVERYTHING IS AWESOME. Because, of course, it is. ~MAXX (M-A-Dos-Equis)
To avoid dehydration and hangover Start drinking lots of water from a week before trip start. So your body will be well hydrated. Once you reach there avoid sugary drinks. I only drink scotch on rock. No cocktails, don't mix stuff. Enjoy your drinks and don't drink to get drunk, that way you will get drunk with no hangover. Go slow. My rule to avoid hangover...one drink then next glass of water then drink then water and so on... If you know you had too much alcohol then eat some starchy fatty food before sleep and I bet you will not get hangover, pattyo have nice hamburger and fry, eat that before bed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Okay, longtime pro here on both sides of the bar. The magic key is coconut water first thing in the morning. At least 8 oz. Straight coconut water is chock full of natural electrolytes, potassium, and sodium. Its like a hydration injection straight into the bloodstream. Because, as all us pro's know, alcohol dehydration is what causes a hangover. Actually learned and lived this one from a wild vacation in Jamaica a few years ago. Another trick to try and cut it off in the beginning of the evening is to stick with "clean" drinks. What I mean by that is high end, clear liquor (Skyy vodka is the purest fyi). Best to mix it with anything clear, sugar free, and non caffineted. Weird because I drink straight Crown. My sweety drinks Bacardi Silver with Sprite Zero. Guess which one of us struggles the next morning?:aktion030: Anywho...hydrate-hydrate-hydrate.
I go from booze hangover to food hangover in .2 seconds after eating a patyos burger...they are damn good though... and the fries...don't forget the fries!
I think the secret is to avoid all sugar at night. I drink rye whiskey neat (room temperature right from the bottle into a glass) and sip on that and also always have an ice water with a lemon in it. So for every drink I have, I also have a full glass of water. Quantity wise per drink is like two fingers. I was a bartender for many years and never got hung over if I stuck to this. One little sip of anything else and it's over though, you can't cheat on this formula at all, so no shots or switching it up at all. You want to keep it as simple as possible for your body to process, so that also means no soda, no diet either...that shit is horrible for you and no beer. When I stick to this, I can be up at Paty O's til 3am and still be in the gym no later than 7am. The other key for me is sleeping for an hour or two after the sexy pool, before dinner.
I've noticed that first timers to any all inclusive places tend to over do it with drinking. Please, keep in mind that you do not need to get shitfaced to have a good time. You really don't need to drink at all. May be more fun to engage in the party with a tall glass of iced tea and enjoy watching drunk people make asses of themselves. Another option would be to follow alcoholic drinks with drinks of water. You still get a buzz, but you keep your wits about you. In the end, it's your vacation and your partner's vacation. Be yourselves and have fun. That's why you are going in the first place. Anyone can stay home and get wasted. You are going to be in paradise. Enjoy! :beer4:
