The Catholic Church has very deep pockets!!!! The money this chruch generates is incredible... They have the best lawyers you can buy... They know how to minipulate the system. Keep things under wraps... Buy people's silence... My best friend is Catholic and I have so many other Catholic friends, and they are all ashamed of what is going on....
Hence the separation of church and state. The combination of two volatile issues that require the absense of rational thought is never a good thing. Although, it should be noted that we have all been abused by politicians for years and years.
But is church and state really separated? Many some voters in Canada will vote along religious lines and politicians will align themselves with certain religious groups to try to pull votes. I know that whether or not Obama was a Muslem became a big deal in the news. Officially it's separated but religion is used by politicians everywhere to influence the population. Personally I think people who believe in a god are good people and should be able to believe what they want. But the churches (christian, muslem, etc) are corrupt and filled with greed.
agree - the institutional church (be it protestant, catholic, muslim whatever) is more harmful to the faith than beneficial the institutional church is clearly outdated and not the vehicle by which any religous faith can be communicated effectively any longer whats amazing is i have a very deep faith as a christian - but the last place you would ever catch me.............is inside the doors of an institutional "christian" church of any type as i honestly think they do more to harm my faith than to help it really sad............but i cant see in any way possible how they can claim to represent the values of my faith rob
Rob I don't have your faith mate, don't know why really and it's probably a tad too deep to explain on here but I can hear what your saying. I didn't start this thread to have a go at anyone religious but I really struggle to understand whats been going on. Last week the Catholic Church cameout and told their followers not to believe the anti church propaganda of the press etc so how the hell are they going to change? They abuse children and then tell catholic women who've been raped that they have to keep their rapists child, so so twisted and wrong
i hear ya les and completely understand when the "KEEPERS" of the faith trade in justice, compassion, mercy and humilty for pride, greed, sexual perversion, pretentiousness and arrogance then what should one expect? lol i still have a cartoon posted on my wall behind the computer it reminds me that the method is just as important as the message - in fact ------------the method often is the message the setting is during the crusades the scene is a christian sitting on his horse with a spear in his hand about to stab a muslim laying on the ground the caption reads " IM TERRIBLY INTERESTED IN THIS CHRISTIANITY OF YOURS, PLEASE DO TELL ME ALL ABOUT IT" could bring it today and the way an enormous amount of religous leaders have made a mockery of their religon im not the type to throw out the "baby with the bath water" as i have a very deep faith in the baby..................but im with you 100 percent in getting rid of the shit stained bath water !!! its way past time rob
It is hard to get too excited about most of the "established" religions. It seems they are all about money and power and they really don't care about their own people. I can remember as a kid hearing the phrase "The One True Church." I would ask based on who's opinion and all I could ever get was that it was based on who had the most to gain from that vantage point. Nothing like an unbiased opinion to really make an argument stick.
