Thanks for the information. Does anyone know how far Playa Del Carmen is from the Moon Palace? Thanks, Andrea
PDC is about a 40 minute car ride from the Palace, give or take a few minutes depending how fast you drive. I rent a Jeep and spend the day in PDC everytime I am down there. its a fun drive.
Hey Venom: If you are on AOL Im, I'd love to talk to you about the palace resorts, aim me if you are on.. Thanks, Andrea
My source at the CP has told me this as of today: 300 rooms are currently open (about 1/2) The "wings" or "sides" of the resort rooms are not being booked as of yet. The gym and kids club still remain closed, no date of opening. All pools and jacuzzis are operational. Construction to remain for a couple more months. Not a whole lot of info, but I believe it to be very accurate.
Cancun Palace We were bumped from the CP to Moon (refused went to SP) on 3/1. We visited the CP on 2 day trips and an evening at the Asian restaurant. We were there last on Tuesday March 6. Only the main pool with a small pool in middle of it was open. The upper jacuzzi/sundeck pools were not operating or any of the fountains. Also both men's rooms at either end of the pool were out of order you have to go into lobby. They tell you the Asian restaurant is casual..slacks nice shorts and shoes for the guys. We dressed accordingly and were followed in by men in regular shorts and flipflops. Inconvience as we had to go back to SP for husband to change into his Doc Martins and out of the very beige khakis that would not stand up at Sr Frogs!! Had we not been misled would've saved another bus ticket and running around. I actually called CP from the Sun twice to double check the no sandles thing!! There really is alot of construction going on still but hopefully before the May travellers arrive they will be hammered out!
A new review was posted on trip advisor. Seems like a mixed bag of reviews however, things appear to be progressing.
