I'd been to Mexico the year before for a wedding, and while I loved the weather the kids dominated the place and I said never again. Went online looking at places and Blue Bay came up and the price looked good. I went to the travel agent to book it, her eyes grew wide and said "are you sure you want to go THERE, it's a wild place!". Needless to say I was sold, loved it, and have been back many times since.
We went to Jamaica in 2007 and found Hedo somehow. I think because it was kid free. In 2009 we decided Hedo wasn't for us. A little bit too far and expensive and the resort was really run down, so good ol Google gave us TTR and we are now on our 3rd trip in less than 7 weeks. We always told each other we would go new locations every year, but why when we found the perfect place?
Told the travel agent to find me a place to have fun with no kiddies!! May will be my 7 th trip back!! :daveandmo:
We wanted an adults only hotel, started to read all of the reviews on tripadvisor. We thought if people were returning for their 15th trip to TTR it must be awesome. After our first trip Jan 2011 we said we have to go back! Returning April 17th for our 2nd trip:daveandmo:
Last year some friends of ours mentioned that they were going to an Adults only resort and invited us along. We had done Sandals in Jamaica before and it was pretty much the most boring trip ever. I politely declined. But then they said "well, it's kinda a different resort them most Adults only. It's pretty much a Swinger's resort". Then I said "I'll book it today". The trip was still months out but I never did bother researching the resort or anything before going so I really had no idea what it would actually be like. Honestly, it was more mellow then I imagined it would be. But I still had a great time and ended up becoming a Premier member. I am sooooo ready for trip number 2! We got to the Hotel about 2pm and I was not smart enough to pack a bikini in my carry on. Our room wasn't ready so we went down to the Sexy pool bar fully clothed. That was a little awkward. 2pm is about when everyone is good and drunk and getting crazy so that's what we walked into for our very first impression of the place. I love it. I was a little scared on day one, but I relaxed and had fun. The only downfall to coming with a group of 6 of us is that we really didn't meet too many other people because we kinda just stayed in our group. I plan on changing that next trip. I love meeting all sorts of new people.
We came on our honeymoon (9 years ago this May). At the time, my husbands daughter was 13 and he had been to Cancun before and didn't want to be around kids (and neither did I). Back then, it was Blue Bay, so we told people where we went! LOL We have thought several times about going somewhere else...but always decide that we know what we are getting at TTR and why would we even waste our money to try out something else, when we would likely be disappointed! :aktion014: I have a friend who keeps trying to convince me that Cancun is dangerous - even sent me a text this morning as her husband is a Border Patrol Agent in Texas. She said that the government just issued a warning about the dangers of traveling to Mexico, even in Cancun and that the crime rates at the resorts are rising....I laughed out loud and told Jeff. We just said - can't wait till June! :mnm: I think this is trip #6 for us...maybe 7, I may not have been very sober for one of them.... :daveandmo: ~Jill~
We were watching an episode of swingers with some friends and my friends wife said whys don't we go to Temptations in Cancun. Looked it up on Google and planned the vacation that night.
Friend of a friend found it from a UK travel company. We wanted to go to Cancun, and liked the idea of adult only. Checked out their website and wasn't keen. It was cancuncare that changed my mind!
We usually head to Key West to a gay clothing-optional resort. Or I do an Atlantis trip to Cancun every April (they book the entire Club Med property and then resell it as a gay resort for that week). Was needing a change of scenery (and I think a pool area full of boobs will be a change of scenery!) so googled "adults only all inclusive cancun" and BAM! There was TTR. The second I saw it and read the reviews I knew we were SO DOWN THERE! can. not. wait.
In 2005 while I was still married I wanted to celebrate my then 25th anniversary. I wanted to go to Mexico because thats where we went for our honeymoon. I picked Cancun because it was a beach town. I picked Blue Bay Getaway (its former name) because of the all inclusive, NO CHILDREN:aktion033:. I fell in love with the place and still love it 9 trips later. Looking forward to taking trip #10 with the new Love :liebe011f my life. She is SOOOO Ready.
