Thanks for the suggestions. Although we didnt want "chain" restaurants, looks like we will be going to Carlos n Charlies our 1st nite for my friends bday, mainly for the fun atmosphere and walking proximity to the dance clubs. Hmmm sounds like we will have to try Surfin Burrito and Splash too....oh and Fish Fritango also, thanks for all the ideas, I'm writing all of these down!

We just ate at the little kitchen stand on the street side. Same folks, just a little walk up stand. 2 fish + 1 beef taco = 38 pesos. She cooked them right there in front of us. Yummy! Great little snack or meal.

Hi all, these are some of the places we ended up eating, just got home today:

Xtabentun - Behind Coral Negro..tacos were very tasty, this was our first meal...it was 45 pesos for 3 tacos, no rice and beans. Chips and pico de gallo included.

Camaron Pelao - next to convention center and across from Fiesta Americana - Delicious shrimp and seafood dishes, great pescadillas (not on menu but they made them for us) ...no frills, no view, but very reasonable prices.

Surfin Burrito - We all LOVED this place...1 minute walk from our condo.. about 40 to 65 pesos for a huge burrito...several said it was the best burrito they had in cancun.

We also at at Sr Frogs the first night, not my idea, I would only go there for drinks, but my friend wanted to go for her bday...the food was decent though, overpriced for sure, but thats to be expected, and we had a lot of fun, 10 of us sat outside by the lagoon...
