I have heard a rumour today that Pres. Bush is in town and during his visit the Hotel Zone will be blocked. Living in the HZ and having kids at school out of it I am guessing I may have a problem
    Can anyone confirm this?
    Thanks
    Tracey

Must be some other President's bush because the Pope is coming to DC today and one would think that he would be there rather than a one day trip to Cancun... but what do I know.... I'd do Cancun for a day if I could. :D

Jamie is correct, Bush is in DC and will be meeting the pope.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall overhearing their conversation!

Well the federal police have all the useless road blocks set up on the south of town. They are at the tope just south of the new lagos development...

It is really working too - traffic was moving quite slowly!

Novedades yesterday said that authorities will make every effort not to disrupt the hotel zone. I think we all know what that means, it will be chaos.

It's the World Economic Forum taking place this week, so tonnes of extra security and police presence.

    http://www.weforum.org/en/index.htm

"The World Economic Forum on Latin America, scheduled to take place in Cancún, Mexico, from 15 to 16 April 2008, will bring together over 500 top global leaders from business, politics, government, academia, civil society and the media from 46 countries. Under the theme “Securing a Place in an Uncertain Economic Landscape”, the meeting will be co-hosted by the Government of Mexico under the patronage of President Felipe Calderón, who will be participating in the event."
