charters are great if you have them. Apple vacations out of Cleveland is insanely high for TTR package. We booked direct from the hotel for 6 nights. We were fortunate to have enough travel points for business travel this year that we got our air for free, but we normally can get r/t to Cancun from around $600 for both of us.
I can do a bundled package (flight and room) for 5 nights and quiet pool Jacuzzi room for $2168, on Orbitz. If I book the flight separate it's $1023, and the discounted rate on the Temptation webpage with one night free is still $1700 for just a Garden room, for a total of over $2700. With a price that cheap from Orbitz, I don't see how being a member could beat that, but that's another topic...
Check around. You can find deals if you are patient. Scanner is good for finding flights. With the sale, we are doing six nights with air for $1800.
We've done cheaptickets and cheapcaribbean, those are typically the sites that we've found to be the cheapest when we were booking. Definitely would not recommend travel agents, cant believe with the access everyone has to the internet that they still have a job.
Loved the price we just got for our 2018 trip (week after Thanksgiving): $347 a night for Lush Tower Suite with jacuzzi & butler (Orbitz) and with that comes about $90 in "Orbitz Bucks" that we can apply toward our airfare (or whatever else we'd book through Orbitz). We'll be staying in a much higher-end room than 2017 and paying less!
From all of my searches bookit.com has some amazing prices with or without airfare, make sure you sign up for an account with them the prices are even better. So far I have had no issues with them and they have very good customer service.
Just booked yesterday. We're members and the price they quoted was $359/night. They were running a special stay 3 nights get 1 free so the total was $1,077 for 4 nights or $269/night. Was pretty happy with that price.
I booked our trip yesterday through Otel.com. For May 1 through May 8 (7 nights) it cost us $1709.69 ($1512 room + $287.34 taxes - $89.89 promo code) for a Bash Tower Ocean View Suite Room via otel.com. On bookit.com the same room was $2981.81. On cheapcarribean.com the same room was $2433.48. On the main resort page (which has buy 2 nights get 1 free right now, so 7 is an odd number of nights) the same room was $2873.00.
I know Premier has a cyber sale going on right now and has extended it to the end of January where every third night is free. That could also save you money.... We are going July 14th thru the 20th. We try to go for our anniversary each year.
