They have a lot of mold, due to the high humidity of room and climate, and the sprinklers right outside the room ,( nothing they can do about that) ( check under the bed/ box spring , and in between the curtains) .

As with any hotel or room ,, I chuck the bed spread in the Corner and they send it out to be cleaned .

Bring a large can of Lysol ( mold killer) .

    Trip #10 next week, # 11 next April .

Table clothes in the restaurant could be swiped more often , other then that the resort gets a 2 thumbs up

Been there more times than we can count. No problems. We stay at a lot of 5 star resorts. TTR is a completely different scale. You'll understand after your first trip.

Won't lie to you it does need a serious update, it's been a well enjoyed hotel if you get my drift. It's been painted and the grounds have been kept up personally I've never found the place to be downright dirty as others have claimed just gotten a little old. The staff is great, the people that come here are great but ask your self how much time am I planning on being in my room.... we get up head for breakfast head to the pool or beach and are there all day....we go up to the room and shower and change for dinner, might go back to change for the theme night if we haven't incorporated it into dinner wear then after dinner head to Paty O's and are there till at least 1 if not later then we head back to our room and to bed and do it all again the next day so when it boils down to it we maybe in the room 8 hrs tops is it clean enough to pass her test answer yes and she'll admit to being a germaphobe

We went in Aug this year for our first trip. We had a blast. The rooms in the resort and lobby are dated. Our room was cool but a bit damp in the evenings. There was no mold or mildew in the restroom or bedroom of the room we stayed in. The restroom was actually pretty immaculate. We left a $20 tip for the cleaning crew on the first night of our stay and in return they did a bang up job each day. Any clothing left out was folded, they left folded towels in the shape of animals on the bed, and we could not ask for better service.

We are going back for New Years this year. Yes other resorts are way more modern and offer a level of elegance that you will not get at Temptation. If you are looking for 5 Star services complete with room service and resort wide quiet hours that start at 10PM, this is not the resort for you. BUT, If you want to meet the nicest staff, the most wonderful non-judgmental group of people you ever met in your life, and have the time of your life and never want to leave, then this is the place for you.

In summary, dated...YES but dirty ....NO

I agree with this post 100%. Temptation Resort *is* clean. It probably won't be the most luxurious resort you'll ever go to, but it's still very good.

Our very first trip to Cancun, we stayed at ME Cancun. It was a gorgeous resort, super-duper clean, excellent staff, great food, beautiful beach. But you know what? Despite all that, we felt bored there. Yes, it was ultra luxurious but the nightlife was tame. There were no daytime activities and guests pretty much kept to themselves.

My husband and I have been to Temptation 3 times since 2014 and it's the only place we ever want to go. It has such a great party atmosphere, day or night. Guests are so friendly, it's amazing really. Total strangers will make you feel welcome and in turn, you'll probably feel like doing the same with others.

Please don't let the posts about cleanliness detract from this beautiful resort. Hopefully you'll have a wonderful stay at Temptation.

I've not had a problem with the cleanliness. They are religiously on top of this as far as I've seen. Always seems clean to me. About the only issue I'd comment on is bring Lysol - spray down the surfaces if you're really bothered. I sprayed into the air con vent last April, and that really helped with the breathing issues (I had a problem last November with being able to breathe in the room - I assume this was due to mold spores or something).

    Clarification
My comment about mold was directly aimed at the Question about the Jacuzzi rooms ,, I can't comment on other rooms .
The Lysol also saved my last trip

There are some great responses in this thread, most are bang on. I was a nervous newbie years ago before our first trip. Needless to say we have been back since and are going again in December.

Some people say, "how much time do you really spend in the room, anyway?" I don't know about you but the room is important to me. We actually spend quite a bit of time in our room. We bring friends back there, sleep there, preparty there.

After spending a lot of time in our friend's Jacuzzi the first year, we now get the Jacuzzi room. I like to relax between sexy pool and paty-os time and typically we get in the jacuzzi after patyo also. It's hard to feel sexy when there is mold and stuff around, so I understand the importance of a good room. Like you I am by no means a snob but I do like a clean, comfy environment.

Like Donald said, bring Lysol. And maybe a travel Febreze for the pillows if musty smells bug ya. Jacuzzi rooms are still the best IMO. The resort is old but they do as good as they can keeping it clean and they provide good service. We have been to several resorts in the Yucatán and they are always somewhat damp. TTR is the only one I've been to twice.

Like others have said, go once and you will see what the draw is. You are going to have a blast!
