Travel Republic I wanted to clear this up since I may book with them also. I emailed them and they responded that it's 20% of the booking total not the deposit if you cancel but if you cancel less than 14 days before you travel then it would be 100% of the booking.
Called them. It is for sure 20% of the total booking amount that they charge to the card. AND they automatically charge your card on the balance due date. I was going to book with them for October but going to book with alpharooms and try out their price match. Anyone try that before?
Also saw a lot of bad reviews, with the biggest issue being that they are a broker. So they collect your money then buy the rooms after. I guess there were situations with hotels being sold out and them booking you through a " similar hotel" with no choice except canceling and losing either the 20% or 100% depending in when u found out. So far I'm uncomfortable using them even to save $265 for 8 nights over alpharooms......

I wonder if prices are higher so RCI memberships become an easier sell? Last april we payed $127 a night thru Alpharooms, and now it's $183 a night. After that last Alpharooms mistake w the incredible deals they had i wonder if TTR/RCI got enough complaints from members making them realize they were selling too cheap to Alpharooms. Something tp think about...
I must agree with Dan, I jumped on the Alpha rooms mistake last year and got two trips out of them for next to nothing. I doubt we're going to see a deal is good as that in the near future. I am beginning to search for my April dates, I must say I am a little sticker shocked at how much the prices went up on all the websites.
