isnt there some like unspoken law of tipping?!
like 20% or something when you have meals and stuff overseas?

i might be wrong, over here we just pay the bill and chuck whatever change you have left on the plate!

9 times out of 10 whoever served you dont even see the tip so it makes no sense to tip too much.

all that aside though, i do tip very generously in cancun :D.....
how else would one get alcohol?!? haha

tipping is a GREAT thing in cancun. Many of the people working live off tips and not so much their salary! For meals and the like, tip is usually so so, but when drinking at night, have everyone tip 5 or 10 dollars at the beginning and the end, it goes a long way and the bartenders will treat you like a king!

Well you think that most would know they had to Tip Claire..

One year me and Marissa went out with these gguys fromt he hotels and they had no clue about tipping, and when the waiter came to collect they were like whatever we aren't giving you nothign, we already paid to get in here....So we were left standing there going uh here is our money at least...

YEah I know that tipping isnn't common in Britain..But I know Americans should know.

Well over here we tend to tip when you get a waiter in the bars, Through them like a couple bucks every couple of drinks, or your table can each through in 5 bucks at the beginning of the night and then do the same at end/middle of the night..

Most places in bars on nights out in britain its all service so never have to give then. I do tip if i go to a restraunt and the person serving has agood job. It doesnt work that way in Cancun though in busy places its top to get any service atall not to reward good service

its not "my mate" its mcsmee!!! complete difference haha
and yes passed out in the lift in cancun.

as for the tipping, i kind of just went to the bar and see what other people were waving at the bartenders...
up it by a few dollars and hey presto.. SERVED! haha

otherwise, yeah just club together at begining of night and tip a waiter.
if there's like 5 of you and you all tip $5 or $10 you'll be treated like kings or QUEENS  whichever you prefer.

respect the tipping system folks, or have a dry mouth for the night.
