We were leading the league in short handed goals, 4 on 5 and 3 on 5. Last night's counted as a 4 on 5. Even though the rush started at 3 on 5, it was 4 on 5 when the goal lights went on. We might ofl been able to keep the record if we didn't start this new disciplined hockey concept. Last night, two penalties. How are we suppose to hold on to the record if we don't get enough short handed play? Mind you, we are climbing the stats a little quicker now... Overall in the East, I think we're back in 2nd.
Unfortunately, that's the way the playoff seeding works in the NBA as well. The Eastern Conference there will likely send a team or two with a losing record to the playoffs while in the West a couple teams with winning records will be left out. I haven't read as much about the controversy in that league as in the NHL. What would work best...like NCAA College Basketball's format?
You're right Waste, the Habs are in 2nd in their division, and with the win, 4th in the conference...2 games separate our teams for that 4th spot. Fortunately for the Pens, they are only one game behind Philly for the division lead, which would essentially put them into 2nd overall in the East We would be looking at Habs/Pens if the playoffs started today, which would be interesting.
Both teams generate so much revenue, it would be best to see them in the conference final and not game 1. I like the 1vs5, 2vs6, 3vs7 and 4vs8 a lot better. Eastern stats: 1st Ottawa 68pts 51gp (1st in div) 2nd Montreal 62pts 50gp (2nd in div) 3rd Philly 61pts 49gp (1st in div) 4th Pitts 60pts 50gp (2nd in div) Carolina 54pts 53gp (1st in div) above Carolina, not including their 3 games in hand, is New Jersey, NYI, NYR and Boston. Buffalo is close with only 49gp.
