    Day 1 – Wednesday
Waking up at 3AM to catch a plane was not easy but thinking about all the girls gone wild waiting for me on the other side of the flight made it all worth it. Watching the sunrise from an airplane was pretty nice too. Cancun airport was a madhouse even on Wednesday but eventually I found Koryn and off to spring break central of the world we went.

Being a Select Guest member, Omni upgraded our lagoon view room to a lagoon/ocean view room directly facing the Oasis which was pretty sweet. We had a huge balcony, the pools were nice, no mold were to be found (Koryn is allergic), etc. My only complain was that there were huge rocks on the beach.

We went to Le Meridian to meet up with Chris (my boss’s brother in law) and his wife Vivian. We went shopping at La Isla and Chris treated us to dinner at Club Grill at the Ritz Carlton. It was an interesting experience because I never go to places that fancy. We were so beat after dinner (I basically woke up at 1AM Cancun time) that we just end up having a low key night at the lobby bar of Le Meridian. We talked about movies, religion, politics, and the world around us. It wasn’t a very spring breakish day but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

    Day two - Thursday
We woke up fairly early and went to the Oasis beach which was a little nicer than Omni’s and had a lot more young people. Afterwards, we grabbed some lunch at Carlos n Charlies. We also went to the beach behind the City which was even better than Oasis’. After that, we decided to take up on the advice of an unnamed CancunCare member and went shopping in the alley next to DaddyO. Finding what we wanted was fairly easy (and I apologize if my memory of the rest of the trip was a little fuzzy) and the trip was finally starting to look more spring breakish.

I don’t remember much of what we did before the CC meet up at Slice. It was so nice to finally meet everyone in person. Jason and Shaun were just as out of control in person and Linz’s boobies were just as standout in person. We all went to Carlos n Charlies but as much as I wanted to spend more time with my fellow CCers, Koryn was already really trashed (she didn’t even remember leaving Slice) so we didn’t get to stay very long.

    Day 3 – Friday
We woke up to go to the $10 breakfast buffet at Captain Cove which I read on my Frommer’s book but it was closed. So we ate at the Omni and again, the rest of the day was pretty hazy. I think we hung out at the pool for the most part.

We decided to venture to downtown late afternoon. We got on a bus that had downtown written on the front window, without knowing not every bus goes through the touristy part of downtown. Since it was our first time to Cancun, we kept on looking out for the bus to pass somewhere touristy to get off but it never did. Eventually some local on the bus came up to us to ask where we were trying to go since we looked totally out of place. He told us that we need to get off (since we were actually getting further and further away from where we were going) and take another bus.

We got off the bus but had absolutely no idea where we were and there were zero gringos around. It was scary and hilarious at the same time. Finally we managed to find a cab except the driver couldn’t speak any English and we couldn’t speak any Spanish. Lucky we found a traffic cop who translated for us and we were finally on our way to the touristy part of downtown. 10 minute cab ride for 20 pesos, can you believe that? I gave the driver a 50% tip and felt like a high roller.

We had dinner at this downtown restaurant called Pericos which was totally cheesy but it was a lot of fun. The wait stuff were funny as hell. I’d definitely recommend it if you are looking a completely cheesy Mexican dinning experience. We walked around downtown after dinner. I wanted to go buy some cheap Viagra (wanted to know what the fuzz is all about that’s all, really!!) but chickened out at the end.

That night, we went to O Ultra lounge which was nice but kind of size of the crowd and this super muscular guy kept on following us around trying to talk to us so eventually we just left. We hung out at Corona Bar for a little while. There, I recognized Trigger’s hairdo so I went up to him and introduced myself. I didn’t get to spend much time with Trigger and Riki since Koryn wasn’t feeling too well so we had to go home.

    Day 4 – Saturday
We spent most of the day at the pool and the Jacuzzi bar at the Omni. We went to dinner at Captain Cove which was delicious. It was definitely my favorite restaurant in Cancun. That night, we went to Daddy O and got ourselves a table. We drank a lot and talked to all kinds of random people (mostly guys and couples unfortunately) including a group of drunk guys who literally spent the whole night calling each other fags. I was hoping we could bring a girl or two home with us (our king size bed at the Omni was way too big for just two people), oh well. And we got so drunk that I lost my cell phone on the dance floor which really sucked but it was a great night out regardless.

    Day 5 – Sunday
We did the Jungle Tour in the afternoon which was a lot of fun. It’s definitely a must do in Cancun. My room key and credit card fell out of my pocket while snorkeling but some guy from our group managed to find them (at two different parts of the reefs). It was totally unbelievable considering my credit card was sky blue and my room key was dark green, we were in the middle of the turquoise color ocean, and the depth of the bottom ranged from 2 feet to 10 feet. He must have been a treasure hunter of some sort. Oh and I forgot to put suntan lotion before going on the Jungle Tour so three hours under the sun later, even my non-white Asian skin was not very happy.

That night, we had dinner at Bubba Gump and went to Carlos and Charlies for the CC party unfortunately less than 10 people showed up. We waited outside till 9PM and decided to cancel the party. We went across the street to Slice for a few drinks until the clubs open. There, we saw a dancing baby, a super old drunk guy, and a lot of the bar staff trying to hump and make out with female customers (I swear, they must have the best job in the world).

Afterwards, me, Koryn, Shuan, Kristi, Trigger, and Riki went to the City. We had a great time there. Shuan tried to help Trigger and Riki pick up some chicks except the chick Shaun was dancing with would not leave him alone. He couldn’t get her off him so he kept on trying to signal Kristi to come bail him out but Kristi just pretended she didn’t see him. This went on for like 20-30 min. It was the funniest thing.

We said goodbye to the group around 1:30AM since we had a flight to catch the next day. While walking to catch the bus home really drunk, we stumble across a pharmacy and I spent all my remaining pesos on expensive Viagra. In retrospect, it was probably not the brightest idea since I didn’t notice any difference with or without it. I guess I’ll just save the reminding pills in case of future emergency situations.

    Day 6 – Monday
I woke up early to take some last minute pictures before heading to the airport. Koryn and I had lunch at TGIF at the airport before parting our ways. The ironic part was that earlier in the trip, we passed by a TGIF in the hotel zone and I made the comment “who the hell goes to TGIF when they are in Mexico”. To my credit, it was the only real sit down restaurant in the airport though. I actually felt a little sad to say goodbye to Cancun. It was probably the best spring break trip I’ve been on and I didn’t want it to end. Oh well, I guess there is always next year.

    In summary

It was a sweet room in an awesome hotel. I'd probably rank it in the top 5 of all the hotels I've stayed at over the years.
