Yes the review was passed on to me. Sorry for the confusion. I think we will just have to see for ourselves. Thanks for the responses!
We went to TTR Cabo in Dec of 2011 for the first time. Trying TTR Cancun this Dec. TTR Cabo only had one pool and while it was fun and really beautiful I don't think it had the party vibe that the Cancun sexy pool sounds like it has. I think it will be nice to have the option of the quiet pool for hangover days and the sexy pool for partying. As far as the booze goes it was good. We never asked for a specific brand during the day and had great drinks. At night a few times we would ask what they had at the bars and would get "name brand" drinks. They did have as specific shelf for "members" with booze and a couple times my husband would tip the bartender on the sly and get the premium booze. We did tip our bartenders and always had great drinks. Food was good. Like someone else said - I don't have to cook for my kids or anyone else so I'm happy! That's our motto on vacation. Some people live to eat, we eat to live. So, in a nutshell we are jazzed about trying TTR cancun. The only thing we're "worried" about is if we can keep up to the crowd......... :icon_cool:
We visited Desire this past trip to TTR, KLuis, our membership closer offered to run us over while he was working (slick operator, Luis). Personally, I actively like getting naked and running around, it's a childlike joy for me. Then, there's the not-childlike fun of having my lady there also naked that appeals to the basement-level part of my ... um... brain. Yeah, that's it. Stacia's OK being naked or not, it makes no difference to her, she's gorgeous either way. She didn't like dDesire "yet," though, and I say "yet" because we only visited from about 10:00 to about 12:30 pm. Long enough to have a meal (better selection than TTR, but I can't say better service, slightly better quality and preparation of some items, perhaps). My drink came in a pint-size glass, just beer, but a premium instead of the Dos Equis lager ( I think ) that you get at the pool at TTR. But, it was DEAD in the morning there. Apparently, Desire just begins to really wake up around Noon, and I noted this. If we stayed up partying until 3:00 a.m. as they seem to regularly do, I think I'd get up at Noon, too. The slow star is what Stacia didn't care for, but she's agreed we'll go sometime next year, maybe for birthday trip? And I'm sure it'll grow on her. Key point is Steve's. Go to TTR, pay a very good price for the level of food, service, and entertainment you get. Go to Desire and pay about $250 PER DAY more.... Gee, you get better quality "stuff." Just giving you what you paid for, I think.
We will be returning for our third trip in a year, Sept. 2011, April 2012 and Sept. 2012. Considering we just booked our room with all inclusive for two (7 days) for $375 taxes incl. through Alpharooms, I have to wonder about the complaints on the food. I enjoyed every meal but one in my 14 days at the resort so far, and can't imagine the cost to feed two people this quality for 7 days at home. I know it would cost way more than the $375, so does that mean I am getting all the booze and the room for free? Service is outstanding, from every staff member and the guests truly make the experience. I was disappointed that Steve had no Booze cruise while we were there in April, so really hoping for one in September. One thing about TTR that is different than most resorts is we don't go to sleep at 9pm...
Not to highjack this thread but is that $375 per person? If you don't mind what dates are you going? I searched thier website and did not find any price close to that.
Look I read through the original and most of the replies and came to one conclusion. If you have a stick up your butt about everything in your life you will not like TTR...if you like to have fun with some fucking awesome people TTR is for you. It does cost less and maybe the booze it not top shelf but drunk and fun is still drunk and fun with cheap booze. Relax and enjoy the ride...
