We went to TTR cabo last winter ( 2011), and we enjoyed it. While we were there, we met a lot of people who had been to Cancun, and they all raved about it, saying it was far superior to cabo, and that the entertainment was way better, all because of some guy named chinos..... so, this winter , we booked Cancun TTR, and we enjoyed it much more then Cabo. found the food par for any all inclusive, the chairs par as well for any all inclusive, and like every other one we've been to, the chairs get reserved early. Where we found Cancun superiour to any other, was the staff service, the people a lot friendlier, and of course, Steves Boobs Cruise. The resorts are what you make them, but, for our buck, TTR Cancun is it. see you next feb steve.
Fist of all Temptations is not as bad as the review is making it out to be, but having stayed before I can make these comments: You pay much and you get less From what I've heard Temptations is considerably cheaper than desires so yeah you do get less, that's just an economic thing. Attract a totally different type of person Doubt that so much. In Temptation, especially from people who go on the forum, you get a fun loving crowd up for anything. If this is too much for you, there is always the option of the quiet pool which is much more laid back. Drinks are made with the cheapest bar stock you can find I so not agree! I've been to some really dodgy places that serve you the nastiest stuff you've ever had to gulp down. Temptations liquor is of a good quality. Whether you order a smirnoff or just say vodka and coke, the quality of the liquor is fine. I gave up asking for smirnoff in the end, becuase they give you less of that in a glass than the normal stuff, and the normal stuff tasted fine to me. They boast 3 pools but everyone uses just one I so disagree! I used the sexy pool and the quiet pool equally, and both were busy for our two week stay. Yeah, the sexy pool is a lot more busy, but the quiet pool is actually anything but quiet. I met some very interesting people and had good conversations around the quiet pool with people who were too shy to open up around sexy pool and it was really fun! Think I actually gave a few of them the confidence to join us at the sexy pool at other points too.
Good question. We just booked our 4th trip back in 4 years to TTR Cancun so yes we would go back again. Here are our reasons why: 1. I have better friends that I have met at TTR Cancun than people I knew and grew up with. People just want to hang out, talk, and get to know you in Cancun and it really is a judgement free zone. 2. I always get great service at TTR. The first day we were there we tipped the bartender next to nothing (didn't bring any money down with us) and received great service. The very next day we handed him a $20. These tips were not to get service but instead as an appreciation for great service. The staff have always taken great care of us. 3. We get a great experience for a relatively low cost. I recently looked at Adults Only trips anywhere in the South and TTR was the least expensive (barring Cuba but being a US citizen I can't go). While I always enjoy the food and booze I will admit to getting better of each on luxury vacations but those cost significantly more. 4. IT'S A FUCKING GOOD TIME!!!!!!! I spend the other 11 months of the year dreaming about my experiences in TTR, reading the forum to live vicariously through others trips, and planning my next trip. We love seeing the world so we only go one time a year but I love every minute of it.
We have experienced TTR in Cancun 2 times, going back for a 3rd a month from today. Been to Desire in Cancun before that, and Desire in Cabo in between. Also been to Golden Parnassus before Desire Cancun. TTR is the only place we keep coming back to. Alcohol....who cares! If you think the well drinks aren't strong enough, then drink more, it's free (or included in your all inclusive). If you would rather have different types of alcohol then just ask, find out what they do have. Food. Well, so many peoples opinions vary. We're just a normal American family who works hard and don't fancy ourselves on fine dining, fancy steakhouses, or sushi. We work hard, so we play harder. Just putting food on the table for 3 young boys is hard enough. Every year we use half of our tax refund just to go to TTR every summer. So to us, the food is an upgrade from what we are accustomed to while at home. We get dressed up a few nights, have a 3 or 4 course meal, some great ambiance, and sometimes lucky enough to dine with great friends. What more could we ask for. Most of the time we will eat alacarte, or buffet, just because we don't want to take that much time for a meal. But for a resort to have several choices, Italian, Asian, Tex-Mex, Buffet, Late night burgers and fries, suits us just fine! Yes, it boasts 3 pools, and people only seem to use one of them. Why is that? Because people are having so much fun, there's much to do, see and talk about at that one pool. Both Desires in Cabo and Cancun, have just one pool anyways, so you don't even have a choice there. Desires in both Cancun and Cabo have rooftop bars and giant jacuzzis where our experience was at 4:30-5:30 the "OLDER Crowd" would gather and have their XXXrated spring break each day. The older 50something men would approach my wife each day, and say 10 times a day, we gonna see you up at the jacuzzi later? Ummmm, no! And we are in the lifestyle. I will say Cancun Desire attracts a much older crowd. Our experience when we were there, 40's to 60's and beyond. The food is just about even, alcohol may be better or more choices, but TTR is owned by the same company that owns Desire I believe. Not a whole lot of difference from our experience. When at Desire, because things were not "lively" during the day, or night at the clubs on premise, we felt we needed to leave the resort once or twice to get out! Not the case at TTR Cancun. If we do go out, we worry we're going to miss something, or not have as much fun as staying back at the resort! Desire Cabo, seems to attract a little better crowd then Desire Cancun. More 30-50's on average, compared to 40-60's on average in Cancun. Prolly has to do with being so close to Silicone Valley and many more plastic surgeons from what we saw. We met great people at all 3 resorts, and 4 if you include Golden Parnassus. So in summation, why do we keep choosing TTR Cancun over all the other resorts, when we've never went back there more then once? Because we like to have fun! Can the groups of single guys be annoying or obnoxious occasionally....yes. But if they are offensive, it's very easy to take care of, if you can't reason or handle them, then someone higher up can. When they are carrying on...at least someone is having fun, is the way I try to look at it! We don't go on vacation or choose TTR to get some rest! We go home TIRED from partying ourselves. TTR boasts a much better crowd of people, 20's to 40's on average. But the laid back, push the envelope, and non judgemental personalities that permeate the resort have us addicted. We have better friends from being at TTR then we experience back home. There's nothing that the staff won't do for you either if you ask, and do so with the biggest SMILE in the process. And showing your appreciation for their services with modest tips, gives them incentive to provide you even better service. We LOVE TTR Cancun, more so then any other place. We could pay twice as much or 3 times the money to go to Desire and be surrounded by a larger percentage of lifestyle people, and have less then half the fun we do at TTR Cancun. The minute we leave, is the minute we all start talking about our next trip with everyone we met! Ed June Junkie for life!
My husband and I will share our 5th trip to TTR next month. The first time was for our 30th wedding anniversary and wanted an adult resort, that was it, but what we got was life long friends and the time of our lives! Never had a vacation like that, until the next time, and the next time, and the next time. We don't go to TTR for the food for the drinks, they actually aren't as important as the time we share together and the wonderful friends we have been blessed to have for life. YES...we will go back more than one more time! Life is short and I plan to enjoy all the rest of my days!
Been 14 times! I love the experience every time. It is where my extended family is and new people that we meet that become family. First time we went the husband for our anniversary(first trip with no kids) he was worried we would be sitting around bored!!!! Didn't happen had the best time. It is probably just what you make of it. Sorry you were disappointed. Debbie
The welcome reception we got from these two on our first trip (less than 30 seconds after check-in) is a big reason why we keep coming back. Try not to drink all the booze before we get there in June.
We will talk to the Liquor Manurfacturers to make sure they amp up the production. Sorry we are going to miss you two, maybe next time!! Take Care, Drink and Make Us Proud!!!!!! Debbie and George
I didn't realize until Jess pointed it out to me, but I think many of us were confused at how we read this partial review in the opening paragraph. I know I thought you were speaking from your experience, but made mention that this was a review that was passed on to you, and you'd like to know how accurate it was, I'm gathering. Regardless of who wrote it, I would say the same thing to anyone, and hope that you'll give TTR a shot, unless you're looking for something other then a good time with the greatest people from around the world! Ed
I missed that part too. The main point is if the top shelf booze, high end food, no singles, romantic experience is a very high priority and you have the funds for desire, go for it. TTR is great for those who want to socialize (for some this may include swinging), that just want to have a fun time! :ernaehrung024:
