elleboogs I've tried several tutors myself and none have really worked out though I think I know one who would be good for beginners: I recommended her to nevets and mavsfan

So far I've asked two people I would have confidence in but they were not interested: the problem is that they have good jobs and the prospect of teaching for 200 pesos per hour is just not attractive to them

It may be necessary to offer 300 pesos per hour and try to have just a little larger group size to attract the right person while keeping the cost in check

V... She knows about Daneen, but would rather the lesson happen in her own home, and Daneen doesn't travel. You sure can't beat her prices though!

Elle, My wife has a Spanish Tudor that comes to our home. She has been with him for about 6 months so far. He was recommended by a Canadian couple we are friends with. He is very very good. If interested PM me and I'll send you his contact info. We live in SM18 so we are close by.

V - I contacted the individual Gringation had in mind, and he is offering his services at $250 per hour, and more if there were to be another student. Not exactly what I wanted to pay, but not much more either. As you said, it has to be worth it for them....

Tom - I'm sending you a PM for some details. Thanks :)

Elleboogs, I've got your teacher! She's 150 pesos per hour (less, if you want to prepay for a block of lessons), experienced (has even taught Spanish in the U.S. on a teacher exchange program), is extremely kind, and flexible about schedule. What she's not flexible about is that she wants you to meet her- normally, at a public place, like a coffee shop. You'd like her....

    V - that sounds perfect!!!

Can you PM me the details??

We are headed to Canada this week for the holidays, but when we return I'd be able to meet her.

Sounds like the price is right as well :)

    Thanks and Happy Holidays :)
