I understand but I only know what they are offering members Im sure there are upgrades for others too, however they are joining us by not segregating us, which is better and I have to say. Don't lose interest in a membership its a great upgrade and not like the timeshare its a membership and can be bought for 2500
I have to disagree because if you pay for front row seats at the show you don't want to be in the back row do you?
Thanks for the info Lynn. Those sound like great additions/improvements! I always thought the sports pool and surrounding area was under utilized - be interesting to see what they come up with. Some of those though, like better mixers, food and new smoothie bar would really need to be for everyone, rather than just Premier I think. I'm not really seeing it here on cancuncare too much but from the various groups I see on Facebook there seems to be an increasing 'them and us' attitude. Not sure that is a good thing overall, otherwise TTR may just end up with a half empty hotel that may as well just be Premier only. No one likes to be seen as 'second class'.
no offense meant to any previous posters, but i have seen threads like this for over 10 years on this board. TTR may look at what is posted here, but they have their own vision and plan for the resort. i would also take anything said by the "Premier" (aka Timeshare) people with a grain of salt. actually, i wouldn't waste the salt...
To avoid the ''Them and us'' attitude they could offer ($) same color bracelets to non-members that gives them most of the same privileges A lot of resorts do that ,,, ie for $100 you get a silver bracelet and you get premium liquir for the week ect. Members would get them for free Do away with the separate seating , its stupid Last Oct I did an in-formal survey about the new Premier deck, and not one person liked the segregation aspect of it. When asked, " would you do away with the perks, in return for real Discount on your room '' most said yes. I do not blame members for the situation , its TTR using the perks to try and sell Memberships. Just hope the members can fill the place, because if you make the regular guests feel like second class citizens,,,, well , we have options now.
In 2010 they told me there would be a community HOT tub by my next visit. I guess they thought I was coming back in 2020. lol
Been the last four years for 2 weeks at a time and the last time was pretty dissapointed with the break. Food, room (very poor ) and the entertainment. The bar was closed around 1 or twoish am a couple of times (last week in feb 1st in march,,), loads complained. They discourage lifestyle people,Have said many times there should be a meeting bar for likeminded couples. The sercurity warned a couple of girls who were flashing their boobs but had no issue with nipples covered in tiny peices of material. The girls were told they would be kicked out the hotel, yet a group of english lads started a fight putting a couple of people in hospitial and were allowed back at the hotel a day or so later to finish their holiday, Its all got a little tame and time to move on untill they modernise, treat their customers, who have made the place, like the adults they are... But it'll take one hell of a lot of improvement to entice people back once they moved on,, may result in goodby Temptations.
We're not fans of the segregation either, but we really think that TTR will become a members only resort in time. With everything we've seen over the years.. we've been going since it was BBG it appears to us this is the direction they are going... our only worry is that we might miss out..
