Do we know any specifics about the upcoming construction project? What/when and which areas will be effected?

What Lions said.... it's the TTR party-folk and the sexy vibe they give off that makes TTR hot and happening. The hotel itself, while they are doing a good job of "maintaining" is still a few decades old in construction, so it's slightly dated, even with renovations.

It needs a serious facelift to get to where they are pricing it at, and perhaps that's what price hikes are for? I don't know, seems the backwards way to go about doing that, if so. Get financing, make it happen, THEN jack prices up b/c of awesome-newness.

And, perhaps give bodyshot lessons to all newbies as part of the timeshare walk. If nothing else, that would cull the crowd of non party people.

I AM kidding. NO WAY Stacia would've done a bodyshot our first time to BBG. None at all.

    Now though? A Convert! ...lol...

Just did a price comparison for April , Gov is running $1,000 less for the 11 night package for TTR.

They will probably not make an official construction announcement , it would scare people away.

It will be a SURPRISE :) ,, i ,m sure they will make your stay safe and offer hard hats ,, ( sarcasm and beer)

Here's the thing, in my opinion TTR has become busier every year. So they figure they can raise the prices due to that fact. And i might be wrong here but my understanding is the new construction is to add more rooms, not renovate existing ones. I really don't like that plan. Pure greed i think. How bout keep the people happy that have been coming for years!!! some days and nights it's hard enough to get drinks at bars from large crowds waiting for drinks. I've been 10 times n going for #11 in april but it's costing almost 40% more than 2 years ago.

I actually took time to go to the premiere office and discuss before I renew my membership to find out what is happening with the resort. I specifically asked if they pay attention to cancuncare and was told yes every day but they will remain tight lipped on the new happenings because of the fierce competition from GOV. I got a few things but this may only be for premiere members.
    Mix upgrades are in order,
    food upgrade is coming,
35 renovated rooms in quiet area for members,
choose your chair or section for members only,
the sports pool is changing completely but tight on the info with that and the Asian is expanding, members will be able to choose their tables and not have to make reservations
They said they have to step it up a FEW notches because of GOV but cannot release as the competition is watching.

The more they divide the members and non-members the more I,m convinced to go to the GOV.

Not every one has the money or wants to commit to membership, especially with all the bad reports on how members are treated on their contracts.

The segregation is the #1 reason why I would not become a member. I was actually going to do the tour this April, but have lost interest for now.

If half your friends are non-members and can't sit with you in the ''special '' section what fun is that ??

I agree with Donald. This isn't good news its bad news. By making more perks for members only its just another reason for the majority of us (non members) to go elsewhere. Membership shouldn't be about better service, better seats or booze. It should ONLY be a reduced rate in exchange for committing to multiple trips. No different than buying an item in bulk at the supermarket.

I know I'm coming off as a Temp hater and it honestly couldn't be further from the truth. I LOVE the place but change really is needed :(
