I believe the tap water is safe, and have never gotten sick from it. It does not taste the best so I don't drink it except to brush my teeth or if I need to take some naproxen when I don't have anything else to drink. The bottled water in the frig and at the gift shop is fine. The ice is fine. The water in the restaurants and the bars is fine.
Dukoral comes in pill form??? I took 2 doses last fall before my trip as on oral liquid, which was supposed to be raspberry flavour...yeah right...I'm dreading the thought of drinking my booster dose, which I should be doing soon...only 20 days left.... PS: I didn't have any stomach problems !!!
Sorry, I just looked it up. You're right it is sachet of crystals that you mix in water. Don't know how it tastes, as we opted not to use it!
The water at TTR is 100% safe. They have their own on-site water purification system. Seen it.. touched it.. it's there. Now when you leave the resort... if your beer, water, coke, whatever was cooling down in ice and water, wipe it clean before opening it.. that water is not safe. Suggest you do not eat salads outside of well established resturants as the greens were probably not washed in purified water... Remember that while on vacation, at an all inclusive resort, you are not eating or drinking like you do at home. I know only very few people that drink carbonated beverages (beer, coke in the mixed drinks, etc) ALL DAY LONG, DAYS ON END! Yeah you might do it on Saturday and Sunday every weekend, but not Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday too. That will bloat you and give you gas and the runs. Drinking mixed fruity drinks and eating rich food much more than you are used to will do the same. Mix the two and forget about it..... Lots of reasons for your stomach to go south that have nothing to do with the water. So try to drink lots of true water during the day to keep you hydrated and flushed out, eat at least one "normal meal" a day that is high in protein, starches or Carbs to settle your stomach and you should be OK.
