I am not on FB either. Did Stacey leave for the normal reasons that the gals in the EC leave, or is something else going on? Most of the gals leave after 6-12 months. It looks like a great gig, but I am sure it gets old after a few months. Being sober around drunks is never a good thing. I hope they get going, and get some cast members hired and working. Victor, Jose, and Manuel are great guys, but just don't have the ability to raise the bar up to our expectations. I am surprised that none of the ex-cast members don't post on cc. Their insight would be very interesting.
As always, there are two sides to every story. Knowing the players as I do, or at least think I do, I would imagine that Stacy returned from vacation to find Chinos gone. She probably strongly expressed her dis-satisfaction with the situation and the hotel probably told her that the ship had sailed and to get in line or the door was over there. She took the door. Probably a lot more words were exchanged but the end result was she was not looking to leave when she returned from vacation but after returning felt it was the best thing for her to do. So it was her choice but in her words she wasn't feeling a lot of love. From the hotel's perspective it probably boiled down to either you are a member of our team or not and they were looking for team members. Again this is my impression of what happen after a conversation with Stacy. As I have said before, TTR is at a serious crossroads in which direction they take in the future. The entertainment staff sets the mood for the rest of what happens at the hotel. Lots of changes have happen in the past. Lots of Management teams, entertainment staffs, bartenders (with the exception of about 10 that have been there for really long time) have come and gone but there was one constant throughout, Chinos. Now that he is gone, the hotel is going to have to put a new rudder in the water. Who that rudder is and the direction they set will either make or break the hotel. Right now I plan to go back next May and see what they did and how the new rudder turned out. It will either be the beginning of a new set of relationships or a swan song with old friends as we move on. Don't know which it will be yet, they have to find the rudder. Jamie
We're going down Oct 3 so will see what's up. I still think it sad that the resort can't just say, "here's what we've done and where we want to go for these reasons". Have to assume it's primarily a business decision, whatever they do. But, TTR has repeaters who've been there 5, 10, I've even heard of 15 or more times. Seems like such high repeat customers would tell them that what they've been doing is working fine. How many places in Cancun (or anywhere) have that type loyal customers? If ever something wasn't broken, and not in need of fixing... it looked like TTR had it made. As Jamie stated so well, the ent staff sets the tone. Guess we'll see what they do. I just wish they didn't play all these guessing games. Seems to me you can't hurt yourself by being upfront and honest with your customers.
Jamie, I'm so sad to hear Stacey is gone now, too! That leaves the newest and quietest entertainment staff trying make it all work. I'll be there in two weeks and try to bring back an objective assessment, but this definitely puts a damper on my excitement. Those of you who've been since the turnover, how are the pool games and shows going? Are they changing them up? Are people participating? Have they cleaned them up too much?
Maybe they should try steeling Kimmy away from Cabos TTR ( if she is even there now) I haven't seen her name in trip advisor reviews lately either.
Lol maybe Glenn and Jim have the same feet. Size 10 roller blades on there way to Cancun so Jim can feed me shots on rollerblades. Jim I only said I would keep you out of a thong. Sambuca for moi and Tequilla for Kathy, Katie and Phil.
A little off topic but... Get FaceBook! Okay, sorry this is off topic but those without Facebook need to read this and then go and get a Facebook account – its free! Facebook can offer you a lot. The people you meet at TTR and other places you can have on FaceBook and keep in touch with them. You can create groups that are by invite only. You can create groups that are secret, meaning no one can search for them on FaceBook nor can they see the threads going on, they also have to be invited as well. Basically, Facebook is a great place like this but can also offer more private groups as well if you like. For example; You want to create a group for friends that you meet at TTR, you send them an invite and they are part of your group – too easy. Why is this a good thing? You have control of who is in the group and what they read or see. Another benefit is that if your TTR life is a more private one that you don’t want your co-workers knowing your business… you can do it. I really think that both Cancuncare and Facebook really can be both used together – think of it as keeping your friends close and your closer friends that much more close! I do want to say that I am not trying to say go there rather than here. If anybody has any questions about Facebook in regards to settings, security and privacy, let me know, I will be glad to help you out. Just shoot me a message!
Wow, I just can't imagine TTR without Chinos.....we were there a few years ago when he got in trouble for spanking too hard during one of the games, he was gone for a while, then came back, hopefully it will happen again this time. I do know one thing....the entertainment makes that resort, they better come up with a plan quick, there is no "replacement" for Chinos" sounds like a complete change in direction is necessary.
Returned home 26th September We have been regular visitors to Temptation/Blue Bay over the last 6 or 7 years and were absolutely gutted to find that Chinos is no longer there. We only missed him by a few days. The place is not the same without him although the rest of the entertainment staff try hard. This is the first visit where neither of us have got involved in the games, there is definitely that Chinos spark missing. As other replies have indicated there are a number of rumours floating around as to his absence but whatever the reasons behind it he is already sorely missed. We will probably return next year as we find all the staff so friendly and helpful but Chinos was definitely the icing on the cake and we hope he is back by the time of our next visit. The only good to come out of this is that we finally registered with this site having threatened to for years.
