We just finish our cold ! Take something like ny-Quil (make you sleep) three days after I'm back on my two feets ! So ny-quil, Advil on the day ( if you have headache or fever) and sleep well, also don't make too much effort, just relax, your body needs that! Or depends where you are you can get some butley for the day!! really discusting but at least that's work ! I'm at 30 min from ottawa and it's seems appear everyone here got sick of that huge epidemic cold !! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Zycam for colds, airborne tabs or drink powder, lots of liquids & rest. Lots of rest is always the hardest Enjoy your trip!
I get sick once a year. Usually a bad cold. I had mine just after our return from TTR at the end of February. Every year, I blow off the "Lots of rest" advice and always continue to go through a light workout, and keep moving all day doing my normal activities. I kick my colds super fast and with little severity. Been doing it this way for 15 years. This year though, I decided to take lots of rest, all the same cold meds, but vegetate on the couch for three days. 24/7, no activity. Laurie was going in for a pacemaker implant the following week, which means I was going to play nurse as well as taking care of our kids 24/7. So I thought it prudent to get rest and heal. Well, long story short, the severity was much worse than normal, and so was the duration. Conclusion: Based on my own anecdotal evidence, it's better to stay moving when you get a cold vs. just sitting around. You'll get better faster. Sure, it's not always pleasant to do so, but I really feel the added blood flow facilitates the body's natural healing processes. Just like when you have a hangover, you're much better off to get up and get moving than lay in bed all day. I think we can all relate to that one! These are my own observations and what works for me.. I'm certainly not a doctor, and my recommendations are not based on any scientific data whatsoever! Which reminds me of a t-shirt someone was wearing at TTR a few weeks ago, which said... "I'm not a gynecologist, but I'll have a look"
"Change Sex." ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Did U mean "gender" or "position"? 'Cuz I could see where the combination of frequently & drastically increased blood flow through vasodilation combined with the opportunity for sinus drainage facilitated by gravity in both the missionary & proverbial "doggy-style" positions along with the subtle but again frequently mildly elevated body temperature, then, the male instinctive response to sleep more "could" expedite the virus' lifespan and speed the healing process?!? Way 2 go "Dr.GoGo ! ("Men?"... just remember GoGo, U wouldn't be here without one!)
Zicam is fantastic BUT you have to catch it early. Definitely reduced duration. Hydrate like a madman and if you can, do a very light to moderate aerobic workout to raise your body temp as long as your lungs are good. p.s There are some good lungs that post regularly here............:icon_cool:
Now that you are done with your medical spa day, dont forget the most important thing of all. The wife needs to give you hourly massages, top to bottom, back to front. Warm massage oil, she needs to work your back for at least an hour minimal, then work her way down to your feet. Roll over about 90 minutes into the massage where she can rub your forehead, chest, belly, thighs, and feet again. Knowing that she has done such a good job, pull the towel away as a reward and let her finish the stiff muscle mid section. Jodie does this every time I get sick and it works great. She is just concerned of how often I feel sick, sometimes 2 or 3 times a week, but hey, must be all this cold weather lol
