After it being on my bucket list for many years I finally went last March as a group of friends were going and I was single but I did a single share and didn't pay extra. There was such a large group there that particular week the whole resort was nude. Like everybody always said. After 10 minutes. You'll feel like you have been doing it all your life. It is definitely mostly for couples. Of course there is always that 1 or 2 male creep part of the mix. TTR is actually a lot more fun during the daytime. I think it was a lot quieter. Being kinda of an outsider, I did notice that during the day it was mostly couples being into each other and doing some flirting. So sex in the hottub was common. occasional bj by the poolside. Most of the action happens pretty late at night in the big hottub. I actually never made it there. I was busy wink wink. People will go there 30-50 100 times. You will see proof of it all over the resort. It is quite a bit more expensive and for the room I got, TTR was nicer but the food is better. I would go back but only as a couple. Overall I had a great time and did make excellent friends.
We went to Hedo 3 once a few years ago when it was open and in 3 days we will be back at TTR for our 9th trip, we love the party and the hunt...
We thought about Hedo before our first trip to TTR, but Jamaica is not an easy flight from Seattle. The flights all require +1 day reservations and red eye or long layovers, so that forces adding 2 days of travel time to any trip. Also, Jamaica scares me safety-wise off the resort, so the idea of dangerous travel plus exhausting LONG travel days to and from didn't seem to offer enough ROI compared to Cancun. After what I have read on this thread, I would lean even more toward Cancun and TTR even more now. Plus, no Boobs Cruise = epic fail.
Actually they do have a cruise there that is a blast. Goes to Rick's cafe which is breathtaking.. And always fun to flash the vanilla boats.. Also the safety issues in Jamaica, Negril, are not what you think.. To be honest I have seen more issues in Vegas.. The violence in Jamaica is resident and resident.. Not their bread and butter, tourist.. Kinda like how you hear about the violence in Mexico.. I go to Jamaica alone with my son, and feel very safe. I act like I would traveling anywhere. To any city, or foreign country. Actually I'm taking him there in June for his 18th Bday. No not Hedo.. lol. Negril.. We also always go "off campus" with people while at Hedo so we can show them how beautiful Negril is.. Some great places to eat, and stay in Negril. Also some great excursions close by. Mayfield Falls, YS Falls, Pelican Bar, etc..
We thought about hedo but we we don't really care one way or another about being naked, we looked and found a place that had a great party atmosphere
Everything we've heard about Hedonism has led us to take a pass on it, mostly because of the dated aspect of the resort itself. The people we've talked to who have gone have enjoyed it, but Every one has said that the party vibe is better at TTR, even though there is the full-nude element at Hedo, and that TTR's rooms are at least two full stages above Hedo's lodgings. Whatever the hell a room stage is, I don't know, but there it is. Maybe it's like this: 1. Absodamnlutely Fantastic Room 2. Damn good room 3. Really nice room 4. Nice enough room 5. Room was OK 6. You just sleep and have sex there, not too many complaints with that. 7. It smells bad 9. It is actually unsafe for human habitation Looking at it that way, TTR's absolutely worse room would be of the "you just sleep and have sex there," variety, which is, as you will note from various trip reports, a not uncommon rating. We've decided that for our going to the nekkid place (probably next year for my b-day (thank you in advance) we're going to Desire there near to TTR. Compairing prices, my first glance seems to make it a wash.
We have been to both hedo 2 and 3. The only reason we went there was because swine flu hit mexico and canadians couldn't fly there. So the may Temptations trip became Hedo. We hated Hedo 3 so we moved to Hedo 2. Hedo 2 way better only because we had friends there that couldn't go to cancun either. The resort food, not the best. The piano bar was fun. Being naked okay but rather leave some to the imagination then have it all hang out. The pool at Hedo really creepy, stuck to the beach. The pool at night even creepier. The clientele, really old. The party sucked. The disco, was good till maybe midnight. My preference Temptation all the way. I wouldn't go back to Hedo even if I could go for 364.99 for 7 nights. For the money we paid, I was not impressed.
Couldn't agree more with Mel. The cruise at Hedo II is a blast and very beautiful scenery. We never felt unsafe in Negril. We have felt more unsafe in many US cities.
We stayed at Hedo about 20 years ago as mid - 20 yr olds. We were on the younger side and had a lot of fun. We had no idea that it was a nude resort but we went with the flow and fell in love with Jamaica. A few years ago we went to Grand Lido Negril and decided to visit Hedo one night because it was next door. Granted we were only there for a few hours but we came to the conclusion that we would never stay there again. It was totally outdated, and quite a bit rundown. But we have stayed in some dives so no big deal. But the thing that we decided would not be for us was the atmosphere. There was hard core drugs going on in the disco, and I mean hard core, out in the open. And we felt like it was a total meat market. While we are not in the lifestyle, we would be called swayers - like to flirt and party. People were VERY pushy and it made us very uncomfortable. Walked down by the hot tub and lots of hard core sex out in the open. Just wasn't for us. It was definitely a lot different that when we stayed there. We are visiting TTR Cancun in Dec after visiting Cabo last Dec. for our first time. And I agree with those who say "its more sexy to be dressed sexy than completely naked". Looking forward to first trip to TTR Cancun!!
