Since you have friends 'on the ground' there in Cancun who could check out the details for you, you may be able to find something through the Classifieds. This is from today's Novedades: Clasificados Novedades Q.Roo When we were looking for a Casa we walked around the areas/streets we were interested in while we were there on vacation. I also would check the online Sites. We actually kept watch on one 'empty' Casa for a good 10 years until we were able to stop working and be there more than weeks at a time. What was interesting was that even with a Realtor friend and another friend who worked at 'City Hall', neither of them could find out who the actual owner was to even make an offer! Just recently this Casa was plowed down and a new one is being built in its place. We were very lucky in finding/buying our now Cancun Casa in that other friends who live there full-time let us know when the Casa went up for sale. It is a place that we had only dreamed about when passing by it! Never thought that it would be within our range. We were able to make an offer and after a number of months of going back and forth on the price which began in October we closed the following August. This was all done without a realtor too!
