Seven years ago today, we flew home from the Omni in Cancun looking forward to a return in six weeks with kids. A small footnote in the weather section of the Miami Herald noted the forming of a tropical depression in the southwest caribbean that wasn't even named. What, me worry? :whisper:
When the walls started falling I knew we were toast. Or pancakes. Same guy built the house who built the perimeter walls. Remember roof tiles from the neighbor's house were blowing off and flying around like frizbees. Or better yet like Odd Job's hat in the Goldfinger movie.
TJ I was thinking about your daughter, wasnt she up in the New York area, if so I hope she is safe and sound.
Gonzo, Nice of you to ask. She went to Atlanta last week and had a Sunday flight to JFK that got cancelled. Today she left ATL about 10 am and arrived about 12:30 pm, only the 2nd arrival of the day. Limited service only to JFK and EWR. I heard this afternoon on the news that LGA was still underwater and closed. Just minutes ago I got a msg from a NYC friend saying LGA would have limited service starting tomorrow. But my gal,is fine, hubby is fine, pup and home are fine. Her Midtown Manhattan office is without electricity and closed. I guess you can see the rest of the news on Foxnews. Subways still closed. Buses are jammed and takin 3-4 hrs to get in and out of the city God bless everyone who has been shattered by this storm.
