I'm probably going to fish for an upgrade. Anyone know which tower is the quieter one? I'm a total princess about my sleep.
On our first trip in November 2017 we booked a basic garden view room. Upon arrival we “haggled” with the front counter and for a “tip” were upgraded to a ocean view tower suite. Initially, he wanted a substantial amount of money per night.
If we were to use the "tip" method. What is a reasonable able amount to tip without being cheap? $20? $50? $100?
There is only one tower. It's just one building essentially a horseshoe shape. Lush rooms are the the middle, bash rooms are after those, and the suites are on the end. I'd imagine the higher you go, the less noise you would hear. Good luck fishing for a upgrade. It does happen, when maybe they over booked your room type, but it is pretty rare.
I habe no problem being told no but if theres someone I can bat my eyelashes at to get a little extra I'll find them haha I'm also a big baby about my sleep. Restless drunken sleep leads to a really cranky bitch the next day.
Oh yeah it's def worth trying. I just find the front desk to be my least favorite part of the resort. Here is the resort map, in case you haven't seen it. Most garden rooms are going to be in that "Chill" area, with some also in "Relax". The chill area is pretty quite (except for "i")
Anyway, great question, Jessica! I wonder if : "Have you tipped the front desk for an upgrade?" Deserves its own thread. Would be great to hear other's experiences with that!
I used vacations to go and got a bash tower room for 6 nights with flight for $2700 total for both. That includes ground transportation to and from. If you want the number to the agent I use, let me know
