Wore square cuts for the first time last March .... and found them to be the most comfortable swimwear I have ever worn. Unlike board shorts that hang heavy on you and stay wet for sometime after getting out of the water ... you feel like you are wearing nothing at all with the square cuts. Didn't know they were also known as Budgie Smugglers.

Everybody has heard me bang this drum before, but I say the sexiest thing on a man is a pair of the stretch boardshorts. They have just enough stretch to fit nicely without being form-fitting, are lightweight, comfy, and dry very quickly. Very flattering, unlike standard boardshorts which are kind of tent-like. Hurley Phantom makes the nicest ones, IMHO. No-velcro fly, cuz no one likes getting their junk velcroed.

Ah hah! An answer! I wasn't going to ask for fear of looking stupid or something.

Wait .... I go to Temptation all the time....

Isn't that like a lengthily-stated oxymoron or something? Non sequitur?

Bought a square cut pair for Darren to try this trip. Normally he only sports board shorts, but i've always found he makes them look good! The square cut are pretty nice on him too, I must say ;-)

Try places like Marshall's or Ross Dress-for-Less (or Winners for those of you in Canada). Or Hurley outlet stores. You can pick them up for about 30 bucks in those places. Or eBay.

I agree, buying them at swim boutiques will run you about $70, which is a lot.

I usually wear the Hurley style boardshorts as they are comfortable as described, I prefer the slightly shorter style ones as they fit and look better. For this trip to TTR in Feb, I ordered some Park&Ronen Square cut and swimming shorts as they are nicer quality and more for lounging in the pool then jumping into the surf.

I figured the ladies are buying nice bikinis to look and feel sexy in the sexy pool, us guys can step up our shorts game for the ladies as well :icon_biggrin:
