It is extremely frustrating that these groups of UK males are giving us Brits such a bad reputation! You're right it is a cultural problem. There's a huge drinking culture over here, and go into any city on the weekend and you see these packs of young and very drunk males causing trouble (and even sometimes it's the young females too!). I feel nervous and uncomfortable when they're lurking about so I understand completely where people have an issue with this at the resort. When these 'kids' exhibit this unruly behaviour on holiday they have no idea the trouble they're causing because they get away with it at home. Our laws regarding alcohol and disorderly behaviour are too lenient and it shows. It is getting a little better - it is now near impossible for a minor to get served since a lot of chain pubs and supermarkets have brought in a 'challenge 25' campaign, whereby if you look under 25 you will be ID'd, even though our legal drinking age is 18. However, there is a really worrying trend here where bar staff will serve you no matter what state you're in. It is against the law here to serve anyone who is drunk, but nobody enforces or follows this rule.

I don't think banning these groups will solve the problem, because they will just book separately for the same dates. TTR need to adopt a zero tolerance policy towards this behaviour. If they misbehave they get kicked out. Simple as that. Also enforce the over-21 policy. When booking through a travel agent you have to enter every guest's name and passport info, including date of birth. At this point, if you enter a guest with a DOB under 21 it should block the booking to prevent people sneaking in under age. Also, front desk should refuse entry with no refund. That'll soon stop teenagers trying to get in!

What surprises me is why these groups are venturing over to Cancun in the first place. Normally you see these groups frequenting places like Spain, Portugal, Greece etc because of the short flight time and hence much cheaper than crossing the Atlantic. Why the sudden interest in Cancun? The reason we go to Cancun is simply because we don't want to have to deal with these obnoxious prats on our holiday either. All I can think is that the all inclusive including drinks and topless bathing seems appealing to them. TTR is one of the cheapest options for Brits to book an adult-only resort in Cancun.

Careful what you ask for,,, last April they did increase security, unfortunately they didn't do it well and ruined the ''Temptation'' atmosphere at the resort.
Stopping 3 to a room might help too. No black and white simple answer, that won't cost the resort $$$, that's why there will always be a problem.
As some else said ''money talks''.

Do you guys think any representatives from the hotel come here to browse?
This thread brings up good issues in how the age limit needs enforced and the issues this might cause when not enforced.

I think there is a very very simple soloution. Last time we checked in there we had to show our passports. Front desck just needs to look at them and deny entry to anyone under 21. Personally i think 25 would be a better age but thats just my opinion.

we have no issues with large groups of males or females, just be behaved and respectful. same goes for couples.

all that needs to be done is a 1 warning policy, then boot the offenders ass to the curb. do that a couple of times and word spreads that bullshit wont be tolerated.

if its not done, the resort will end up loosing business, because whos going to go somewhere thats full of moronic idiots?

we saw several groups during our week at TTR. zero issues with any of them. all were very nice people, respectful and well behaved. and, who knows, perhaps those onesmight just get invited back for a little private party....

I know what you guys mean by saying they increased security last year. The May group had to deal with security trying to stop all the fun we always were able to do. They would take our whip cream from us by the pool and even told one of our group that was a female that she needed to go put on a different top at Patyo's when the top was not that bad. But when the young group of boys showed up be rowdy they didn't do anything to them. I even talked to the Manager twice about the way security was singling our group out because there was so many of us but security wasn't doing anything about the rowdy boys. Of course the Manager gave me the political correct answer by saying he would talk to security but I don't even think he did that. They did say about the group of young guys in April was why that added security and they also do check this forum out to see how many will be going there in large groups as last year. The first week of May last year security was tight but the next week when not so many from the forum was there security kind of was back to normal. Hopefully this year Management realizes that those from this forum are there to have fun and not cause trouble. I have never been around anyone from this forum in all the times I have been there treat anyone with disrespect.

We had just got back also. Our stay was from the 30th-April 5th(had to stay an extra day due to flight cancelation). On our arrival we did notice the same thing. VERY VERY young men in groups almost groping the female entertainment dancers at PatyOs, obnoxious the first day we were at the sexy pool also. Blame it on sprin break all you want but there were also copious amounts of singles(males and females alike) that were more than courteous having a good time and were very respectful of others. That being said though and this being our first time TTR has to do something about these trouble makers and set an example before it ruins it for everyone. We hAd commented on how many single men there were with others we had met and there was the same reaction from everyone... Nice pick of the litter but why allow the jackasses to ruin the feels of the resort. We will be coming back again but we will also be sure to make our problems known to security next time!

My husband and I were there 23 - 30 March and a day before we left, this group seemed to explode out of nowhere. They were certainly rude, way past the line of being drunk and seemed to be getting in everyone's face.

However, I'm not sure barring anyone under the age of 25 is the answer. I'm married, own a home, have been working at a job I love for two years - and I'm 23. I don't think age is the problem (as I had an older gentleman, over the age of 55, put his hand in my bikini bottoms in the sexy pool). It's the people themselves. Whether they're 21 or 61, this simply shouldn't be tolerated by the resort. Complaints should be taken very seriously to continue promoting a carefree atmosphere.

Just what I don't want or need, a pack of underage hyenas out hooping and hollering like the pack of idiots they'll probably prove themselves to be. I'm sure management doesn't really check ages, since there doesn't seem to be an actual requirement, so to speak, that anyone be 21. Everyone KNOWS that if a couple hot 19 year old girls wanted to show up and party hard, there'd be no problem, right? So, not a legal decision then, but a policy decision.

I remember being young, dumb and full of .... ah ... juice, but it's much more comfortable to only be half full on a constantly recharging vs. draining competition with Stacia, not be nearly as dumb I don't think, and not anywhere close to "young." Not in that sense. Ha!
