There are so many things I didn't cover in my first TR. I forgot to mention about the Moroccan restaurant. It was great! I forgot to mention about the Russians. The dude who fell into the pool with a plate full of food. All of the cameras. The people who reserved the 3 best spots around the pool and beach. All of the toplessness at the quiet pool. The toplessness in the water at the beach. The AWESOME foam party. The safe situation. The wifi situation.

Should I do a FAQ on this?

Thanks for your understanding!! It's good to know that we're not the only ones who want to party and spend some 'quality time' with our significant others!

Great TR...we were on the fence between this and Pearl. Sounds like GOV is going to work for us June 19-23. Anyone know where can I see the schedule for theme nights...or is it too early to know?
How about attire at the restaurants? My wife has some dresses/tops she cannot wear to our local restaurants...but would like to get some use out of. I guess it is pretty much whatever, since little will be left to the imagination to anyone who is at the pool during the day, but just want to get a feel for what is common.

Ok. Here's some more info that I think needs to be included in my TR. I will continue with the FAQ theme.

    Q: Were there any Russians?
A: Yes, there were Russians. How do I know? Because, by day, all of the Russian men congregate together, never smiling. And they all seem to wear soccer jerseys with the word "RUSSIA" written in LARGE letters on them. We found this amusing! But at night, the Russians would be partying and dancing with the best of them!! All good fun!

Q: Did some people get 'over-served' and do dumb things like walk into the pool with a full plate of food?
A: Yep. Some guy grabbed his plate from Wimpy's and fell straight into the pool. We thought this was not cool at all, but we did laugh as it happened. Security jumped in within seconds, and someone in his party cleaned it up immediately.

Q: How was the Moroccan restaurant?
A: It was very good. We ate there for lunch and dinner, and both times we each had very good food, and the service was prompt and excellent.

Q: What about the room safe?
A: We didn't feel a need to use it. I do think it is a bit of a stretch to charge people to use something like a room safe, and in this case, the safe looked like a person could pick it up, put it in a duffel bag and take it with them. We just put our passports and credit cards in a safe spot in our luggage. Never had an issue.

Q: Did you pay for wi-fi?
A: Nope. Didn't need to do any surfing. I did see that there were at least 3 places directly across the street that offer free wi-fi and cheap beers if you needed it.

Q: Were there really porn channels on the TV?
A: Yes. Disgusting, I know. We only watched it for like, 3 hours for education purposes only. I SWEAR this had nothing to do with us missing the club that one night. I swear. Well, except for the time we were getting ready for dinner and, well, those naughty nurses showed up on the screen, and...
SHAME on you GOV for putting that trash on the TV!

Q: Were there any assholes there?
A: Do bears bear? Do bees be? Does a one-legged duck swim in a circle? Yes. There were assholes there. Did the assholes have a sweet covered bed by the pool reserved, a sweet open bed in the sun by the pool reserved, and a sweet palapa on the beach reserved, all at the same time? Yep. Assholes.

Q: Wait, so you're saying that this place is full of assholes?
A: Not at all. There were a few. That was it. Think about all of the people that live on your street. At least a few are assholes. It was kind of like that. For the most part, people were pretty awesome.

Q: How was the foam party?
A: The foam party was off the chain! (is that what the cool folks say?) It was a pretty cool experience. We had a blast! I was a kid in a candy store. Except with titties all around.

Q: Was there any negatives about the foam party?
A: Well, there were two things that I think some people would have a legitimate bitch about: first, there were cameras everywhere. There was even a dude with a waterproof video camera attached to his chest via a harness that resembled a huge bra that was walking up to the few ladies that were topless. Congratulations, ladies: you are going to be YouTube famous shortly. Those of us who will have some negative career repercussions if we become internet sensations kept the tops on. The other thing that some will see as a negative is that there was still foam residue 2 days later. Some may think of this as gross. And I wouldn't hold it against them if they decided to not go into the main pool while there is a foam residue floating on top.

Q: What about the toplessness? Was there a lot of it?
A: In the main pool, there were about 6 ladies, including my wife, the first day(Thursday mar 27)topless. After that, there weren't as many that we saw during the next few days. No more than 4-5 ladies. On the other hand, there were a LOT more topless women laying around the quiet pool and east beach area. Seemed like a better place to not be gawked at than the main pool.

Q:Let's go back to the food. Why is there such a black/white difference in opinions about the food?

A: I have to believe that it's about perspective. Think about it this way: There are 12 different entrees at the buffet. Chances are NOBODY is going to like EVERYTHING. There were some things that looked downright gross to us, and some things that we loved. I think I would say that the ratio was about 40/60 'like' to 'not like' for us. It was the same at every resort we've ever been to. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that there are people from all over the world coming to stay and eat at these resorts. Everyone is different. I saw people eating some of the things that I thought were gross. I get it. No big deal. I'm not going to shit on that in a trip report.

Q: Do you need another beer?
A: Yes. I'll be right back.

    Q: Are you back?

    Q: Helloooo..?
A: I had to piss too. Relax.

Q: So, what is the takeaway from all of this?
A: We like GOV. We were prepared. Our expectations were met, and then some, mostly thanks to some great folks at CCC, and the website itself. We had a great time. We think about it a lot. We fucked a lot. (I can't stress this enough). We did what we set out to do, and have nothing but great memories, which is all we have when everything is said and done.

I think the theme nights are posted somewhere around here (I'm too lazy to search). If your wife wears a see-through-top dress, I don't think the resort would care. (You may need to PM me some pictures, just to be sure, so that I can be sure that it would be appropriate, because I am a well-known expert on appropriate see-thru dresses. Really.)

Regardless. If you don't need anyone telling you how to have fun, put on a smile, talk to people, and do what you want. Don't worry about what other folks think. And don't turn on channel 35 or 36. Because it may cause you to miss dinner. Or lunch. Or breakfast. It is a terrible thing.

Fantastic report! I think you knew exactly what was going on in my head! Still on the fence, but I love the picture you've painted of your vacation!
