golden parnassus still open???

    good to here that they are still open....bumped us to great parnassus last year so we have voucher for march 2012 for a free stay....hope they get up to somewhat normal by then..

    FYI that voucher is only good for 12months from the day they issued it to you. and couple black out dates! 3nights free im guessing?

    I am still not getting a clear view from this board of what is going on. It's nice to be loyal repeat customers but some candor would be nice too. Are things being resolved, holding, or is the situation getting thicker?

    Everything is resolved as of today. All services are up and running. The timing was bad for us because we left today.

    Any way you can tell us what the problem was and about the furniture deal? All furn back in its place? Was any ever really taken? What was closed other than usual off season closings?

    What ever happened is over now. The staff had a "I will believe when I see it" attitude about the time table for everything being resolved. It took 10 days. There is something going on with the ownership. If you remember they split once before. However I think you should not worry about booking a trip. Not many guest seemed bothered by it or even realized what had happened. However the lobby was full of very concerned new arrivals as we were leaving. They were asking lots of questions to us and front desk personal. The standard response was there was a issue with a operation license for non attached structures on the property. They did recognize that a payment had been missed or lost but they were currently in good standing. Everything is open and all the furniture was returned.

    Thanks for keeping us informed. What about the morale of the staff ? Did the incident affect service ?

    Nope, the service was not effected. It could have been really bad but the hotel was 20% full. There were lines for the restaurants during peak hours that I'd never seen before. The morale was fine. Out of the 16 plus times we have been to Cancun, the Golden has hands down the best overall staff. Out of the 10 different resorts, The Golden is the least expensive and lowest ranked that we have stayed at. We have paid a lot more for a lot less service. We love it!
