    Oct 24-28

We are going to be there with one other couple oct 24- 28th
has anyone ever had a wedding or vow renewal there? Wife and I are going to do a renewal. We will be married 20years in June. We have been given the times of 1pm or 4pm- thinking 4pm will it still be hot outside?

Of course it will still be hot, but by 4pm the shade will have pretty much taken over the beach. If you are doing it right there by the pools, it should be perfect.

    Hey GCPS,
We have a group of 6 of us coming which overlaps your time. We'll be there 12/10 - 12/16. First time to Golden, been to Temptations 4 times over last 3 years. Most of my questions have been answered going thru the posts, except for one. Do the rooms have a minibar? Some travel sites we visited said yes, others no. And I guess it depends on your definition of minibar. I guess "fridge with beer" would qualify.
    Sooooo looking forward to this.

    Hey Binny,

We may be there. We are going the 6th-13th as you know, but have not booked yet. We are seriously considering Playa, but if we don't, it will be at the Golden.

Anyways, there are mini fridges in the club rooms. Basically, all the rooms on the 6th floor, and many on the 5th floor I think. The rest of the rooms do NOT have them.

We have upgraded before for 20 bucks per night to the club rooms. A big jacuzzi tub in the room (never used) and the fridge. Kept our red bulls cold basically.

Come back here occasionally, and if we do end up there, we will hook up at the tiki bar!!!!!

Club rooms? Opens up a whole new line of questions....lol
We'll figure that one out. Thanks for the info.
We will check back. Took a couple months to post a question.
Now if we could only figure out the "add a picture to your profile" thing.
We are booked for the 10th - 16th. So hope you can make it.

    Binny...

In addition to the "Club Rooms" on the 6th floor, there are also "Golden Rooms" on all floors on the north end of the Golden Parnassus (where the balconies jut out a little further). The Golden Rooms also include mini-bars as well as a slightly larger sitting area. Our "Golden Room" number was 308 which was great! High enough to have a good view, yet low enough that we could easily use the stairway to reach our room if we didn't want to bother with the elevator. And the balcony was actually situated on a corner giving us an extra "panoramic" view. By the way, the "even" number rooms are on the ocean side while the "odd" number rooms are on the lagoon side.

And unless things have changed in the last six months or so, if you book a Club Room or a Golden Room, you're automatically included in the Monday afternoon lunch cruise on the Caribberan Queen (about a 2 or 3 hour lagoon excursion with lunch, an open bar, games, etc.).

For more info, including photos, look up our trip report from the summer of '07 on www.tripreport.com. It's under the user name "SEMOFolks". The direct link to our trip report is http://cancun-hotels.tripadvisor.co...ssus_Resort_Spa-Cancun_Yucatan_Peninsula.html

Hi, Jack....I was wondering if you guys might have been in Columbia yesterday... some folks from my office went, but we stayed home and watched on ESPN2. Pretty good game 'til the last few minutes. Don't know what it is about teams from Oklahoma...they seem to give Mizzou fits. Didn't the Sooners beat the Tigers twice last year? (or did they split?). And now the Cowboys get a "W"... Quite a few upsets in the top ranks this weekend....

All is relatively well here... Katie (oldest daughter) and her husband want us to go to Cancun or Playa with them in a few months, but we're still paying off the wedding, so we may not be in the budget quite yet.

How's your family? Do you have a son overseas? We'll keep him in our thoughts.....
