Golden Parnassus (Adults only) ***** AI

Wow, we have a new couple going with us this year. Actually she has been before but her pain in the butt husband is out and she has a new one. She has been to TTR and we are debating the GP vs TTR. We have been to both several times. Does anyone know of a adult only in Playa that is reasonably priced.

 

Golden Parnassus Help

My wife and I are going to the Golden Parnassus on Oct 11th and we have a few questions.
1) what type of beer do they serve?
2)Do they have any American Beers?
3) what time do the bars at the resort close?
4)Are you allowed in the pool after hours?
5)Are you allowed to use the hot tub late at night?
6)Do things get crazy at the pool or hot tub late at night?
7)The sister resort is it worth going to eat or should we stay at the GP?

Overall, the GP goes with the flow, depending on the crowd. Go to the Tiki bar around 9 PM, start a few body shots or some other fun and usually good things will happen. The hot tub is usually a good time. Try to make a fun rule, no tops after dark. Have fun and let us know about yout vacation.

 

Start body shots? Is this with my wife or someone elses?

I hope this place is fun we are looking to cut loose!

The bars are usually pretty quite at the GP. The tiki bar is where all the action is at night, and sometimes there is not much, while at other times the party can go deep into the night.

You are not "allowed" in the pool after hours. The hot tub is not supposed to be used late, but we have before.

Things can get crazy, but its not Temptations crazy. Yes, body shots and topless fun can occur at the tiki late nights, but thats about it. You will find the GP is a couples resort...mostly people in their 30's, 40's.

The entertainment staff is fun and will take you clubbing each night.

The Great has some good food. If you get bored with the GP, you can go over and check it out. Big Ben had good steaks.

We've been to the GP a half dozen times. We like it for what it is. Adults only, topless at the beach and at the pool, small resort, easy to get to know others.

Good food, great service....used to be a great beach, but erosion has taken alot of that away. You will have a blast, and there is almost always a fun group to make things interesting.

 

Who do I see from the staff to go clubbing? Also do they stay with you at the clubs?

 

There is a list of which club they go to each day. Its out by the pool, and they talk about it every day too. After the bad entertainment show in the theatre...they take you in a van to the club. Around 11pm. They get you VIP seating and one or two will stay with you for awhile, but they leave early....just grab the bus home. Its the best way to go out.

Answers to GP questions

Based on our experiences at the GP last summer....

1) The beer is XX, but it didn't matter much to us because we were into the tequila! (And watch out for the slammers...they're lethal!)

2) American beer? No (but see our answer above).

3) What time do the bars close? As far as we know, the Tiki Bar out by the pool and beach is the last to close at 2 a.m. (We shut it down on a couple of nights.)

4 & 5) Pool and hot tub late at night? Technically, you're not really supposed to use them late at night, but with the Tiki Bar so close to the hot tub, it wasn't unusual to see it in use.

6) A little "crazy" at the pool or hot tub late at night? Well, we really didn't see it get too crazy at night, but one afternoon there was a gal who started to give her guy a BJ in the pool, about 10 feet from us. (Management took note and stopped her before she got too far.) It's more apt to get "crazy" at night around the Tiki Bar where dancing on the bar, flashing, and topless body shots aren't too unusual after midnight. One night there were four or five wives/girlfriends/fiancees on the bar, one after another (I keep those photos in a VERY safe place!).

7) The sister resort? We haven't had an opportunity to visit/stay there yet, but Jack & Betty (GCPSgirl) have...they can answer your questions about it.

Overall, we really enjoyed the Golden Parnassus...for an "adults only" property, it wasn't too "over the top"...just right for us, but I suppose it depends on the crowd from week to week. GP is one of the resorts we'd like to visit again someday, and that's something we can't say about every resort we've stayed at.
