Agreed GPSGirl!! What is going on at GP?!?!?! I usually don't take to heart bad reviews I read, but it seems GP is over booking ALOT. It's honestly making me a bit nervous.

I'm sure we will still book with them and just take our chances. I'd hate to not book with them and miss out. I just LOVE the beach there. So I guess we will just accept that it is a possibility and think of it as an adventure :? LOL

 

When we went, our check in was fine. The couple that we went with argued for two hours about their lagoon room when they paid for ocean view. Anyway, we were not aware of their troubles as we were at the beach, tiki bar and the hottub by the time they came out. They got $200 to spend at the gift shop and the travel agent refunded them $200 when they returned. We didn not observe any overbooking problems but I think that we just missed the problem.. it sounds like it happened after we left.

As I mentioned before, our week was "pretty tame: with a few exceptions.

Of course the food was from pretty good to excellent and the bartenders at the tiki bar are the best.

Enjoy your trip. I would mention Trip Advisor if they caused me bumping or booking problems. They all listen to that website. My only acceptable change would be a free week next year and a transfer to another adult only resort. Otherise I would be camped in the lobby.

This was our fifth or sixth straight year to Cancun, next year maybe Playa....It siound sounds like Kool and Mamitas beach has more topless, which makes eveyone a little more comfortable.

Agreed on all points. We have been thinking playa as well, but we just never make it. We will sometime. Jacks been wanting to go to Hidden Beach for a few days, but I don't know. I'm happy just being topless. Not sure how much I want to be nude all day long.

The Golden allows me to go topless on the beach and at the pool, and thats all I need. Well, that and a bunch of miami vice's!!!!

We will be back for a week, dec. 6th-13th. We've never experienced one problem at the Golden, and have been there many, many times. We never upgrade until we arrive....usually getting it very cheap if we want to do it.

 

We are off to Cabo with the kids in two days. That might provide us a good opportunity to look around and see what is out there.

GPS, the same feeling that my wife has. Maybe, somethings are best left to the imagination, or the hottub one night, OK maybe two, at the GP.

We are leaving on Friday. Lately it sounds like there is no nearly as much overbooking as there was in a few months ago. Anyone else going to be in town next week? My wife and I were hoping that we would catch some other "lively" guests. It seems like alot of resorts have a revolving atmosphere depending on which guests are staying there.

Cabo with the kids was fun. The weather was perfect. If warm weather ever arrives, maybe I can get something done. Snowed two times this month already, in Iowa. It sucks. GPS, if I get the pictures on a disc, I will send them to you.

 

we are going to be a golden parnassus june 14th-19th, looking forward to having a blast. we have been to bbg before and it was loads of fun.

Is the Golden Parnassus located between Cancun Palace and
Golden Crown Paradise ?
