We are back and we had a great time. For the most part the weather was great, hot and humid. In a few days I will try and send pictures. The crowd was very tame but we met some great people. I asked about Viking several times but I did not find them.

The Tiki bar at night was either a good party or dead. A few body shots but not much else. The hot tub got very interesting one evening into the night.

Overall the food was good to excellent. The Pier is good for lunch, shrimp. Otherwise we did not find it to be very tasteful. The barn was always good. The sushi restaurant was very good. We did not want to dress up so we did not go to the Shangri La. Those that did were very pleased.

The beach is there but much smaller than last year.

Next year we will probably go somewhere else, not because we were not satisifed. Just want to explore another resort. The only criteria is adults-only. If the TTR is finished, we might consider it again. Any ideas on other affordable adults only will be appreciated.

would you say there were a lot of people there.....or just that the people there were sorta laid back?

I enjoy some craziness....without the spring breaker mentality of throwing up in the pool and bustin up all the lounge chairs. And while I appreciate the whole come to Cancun to lay on the beach for a week to get some sun. I hope there is some upbeat activity.

    Either way the countdown continues!!!

The resort was pretty full. This year, no trouble finding loungers by the pool or the beach if you got there by 10 AM. That is not a problem for us.
This year a very laid back crowd. We met about 10 great couples and spent some of our time talking and drinking with them. Only a few (very few) topless. Last year a strong minority was topless.
Hopefully, since you indicated that you like to party a little, the crowd will be a little more lively. We were disappointed, except for the hot tub in the late afternoon.
The Tiki bar was pretty fun two of the nights. If I want to set around and drink, I can do that at home. The bartenders attempted to spice things up. A few tame body shot participants.
Overall, we had a great trip and we will return after we check out the area around Playa Del Carmen. Those from Canada paid a lot less than the USA guests.
I am having trouble with the pictures, I will keep trying. Have fun!

I kinda know that feeling you have. All the preperation and build up to your trip. Your have expectation levels for one thing and then you get another. That happened to me personally a few years back when it felt like the excitement of Cancun was wearing off. Almost like....been there done that! And still now I feel like I'm chasing that initial feeling. I go into these trips now not expecting much more than a time to let my hair down and meet some cool people. If I'm blown away then that's icing on the cake.

I would enjoy some pictures of your trip.

Well said, about the expectations. I guess it is like a junkie's high, always chasing that initial feeling. However, we had a very good time. The week in Mexico, is paradise and relaxing. The 10 pound weight gain is motivation to do it again.

We are thinking about doing a (non) all-inclusive next year in Playa Del Carmen. Just party at the beach bars and hang out at Mamitas or Kool beaches. As well, enjoy the variations of authentic food.

I am working on the pictures. My daughter is burning them to a CD, then I should be able to send them to you. Too busy, moving snow and ice since we got home.

    Have a great time.

Sounds like they are having severe over booking problems at the GP right now. Better get that crap straightened out.
