Going to Cancun - What Hotel Are You Going To?????

We stayed at the Westin years ago through our timeshare so if we get cornered into where we are staying we say The Westin. Of course we are going to a resort in our new "vacation club" (new term like timeshare) for a few days prior to TTR so as far as anyone knows, that's where we are and will have lots of pictures from there (next to none from TTR). Plus we bought the "Fly-back" (also available when purchasing into the TTR "club" so I hear) through our vacation club so staying there for a few days more than pays for our flights.

 

And this trip we are not even going with another hotel. We are going with an entirely different country! People are getting wise on all our trips to Mexico. Shame we have to stretch the truth but it is the world we live in.

 

Don't get me wrong... I love Temptation and am at all ashamed of it!

However, I have Very conservative, elderly parents, young kids as well as a small local business. As much as we would love to just tell everyone the truth and enjoy watching the fireworks, that simply isn't an option.

Maybe I need a cheat sheet for another hotel in Cancun so I can answer any basic questions! Lol....

We have told a select few friends where we go, but very few. Luckily, we don't post lots of photos from other holidays either, so the absence isn't telling!!!!

 

Pick a hotel and go on tripadvisor and pull some traveler pictures to share with family.

 

Fortunately, we had been going to Cancun for several years before we found TTR and can have extensive conversations about many of the resorts that we visited. In a few years, we may have to actually spend a night in one to be up to date.

 

Funny I tell them Temptation and they all seem to have heard of it and say, that is the swinger place right.

 

Yeah, I know many people would be secretly jealous thinking, wow, that swinger place..... but....

When we first went, it was cheap and hot and I ignored all the rest thinking, as long it is hot and cheap, I can always hide by the quiet pool....

I fell in love with Temptation after 30 mins, when we then spent nearly an hour talking to a couple with kids probably our age..... we connected with the people, the attitude, the atmosphere. I think the swinger friendly vibe leads to a people friendly vibe, swinger or not! That's what people that haven't been don't get!

After 7 trips I gave in last year and just told anyone who was interested enough to ask the actual name of the hotel. I say it sounds worse than it is, is just an adults-only all inclusive that is affordable and has a party atmosphere. I talk about Cancun all year round so it does come up in conversation quite often, but people tend to not be interested in the name of the hotel, they're more curious why I keep going back to the same place. I get it, pre-TTR I'd question why other people would go back to the same places year after year. Just say it suits what we want to get out of a holiday and we've met some amazing people there we want to meet back up with every year. I've yet to have anyone show interest in joining us or wanting to check it out themselves, but I'm prepared for that, I can see it happening eventually.

 

I have gone with , Rich booked it and I dont know where we are staying. Or it was a surprise so I am not sure the name. Then once I get back I say not sure of the name I could never pronounce it correctly. Granted this is just to my parents everyone I could give 2 shits what they think of me.
