Setting goals is pointless. Just show up and do whatever you want. For me that translated to 9 days of waiting for the bar to open every morning and partying all day, then going out that night and repeating the next day. This includes possibly stepping on the actual beach maybe twice, and having no recollection of where I went on which night. It all runs together.
coby, im a bad local hahaha do you happen to know when the last bus from playa to cancun leaves? and the first one? one of those little vans that charge like 30 pesos or something...
hahaha not me! lol That's why this year are trips # 5 and 6 for me..... I kick myself sometimes thinking I could have visited 5 other places.... but Cancun is the most beautiful, peaceful, relaxing place I've ever been To each his own! :doh:

I'm not 100% sure on the collectivo's schedule; I've seen them leave as early as 6:00 am from Playa for Cancun and and as late as 9 p.m. The fares recently went up and they cost 35 pesos (I think) one way. The ADO bus, however, runs virtually 24 hours a day. From 5th in Playa to the downtown station in Cancun is 40 pesos one way (to the airport, which is actually closer, is 100 pesos.) From 7:30 am til 10:00 pm an ADO bus runs every 15 minutes. The late night schedule is a lot more sparse, with buses around 11 pm, 1 am, 4 am etc. Times aren't exact but should give you a decent idea. They supposedly opened up an ADO station in the HZ near the RIU Cancun that runs down to Playa twice daily, but I've never taken it or seen the schedule publicly.
From the station at 5th in Playa to the downtown station in Cancun is around an hour and 15 minutes or so.
