Has anyone seen if the USA 'Global Entry' system is used in the Cancun airport ? Heard that it might be used there ... thanks
I heard that if your walking with a cane... both sides will get you through really quick... maybe I shouldn't be saying this because once all the folks going to TTR come in with canes they might start getting suspicious....LOL
The fastest way through is to grab your carry on like a football, put one arm out, then run as fast as you can for the exit door knocking down anyone in your way!
We very highly recommend getting there through the week and not on the weekend. It takes forever if you get there on Saturday and you can pretty much walk right through if you arrive during the week
We've been into and out of Cancun on both weekdays and weekends and it's never taken us more than an hour to arrive at TTR from the time we landed. Unfortunately, it's mostly out of your hands. As mentioned previously, about the only thing you can do is bring a pen with you on the plane to complete your customs forms and hope you draw a green light.
True. Its just "luck of the draw". We've been in and out in as little as 20 minutes, and as long (usually in April in the early afternoon with lots of planes arriving) as an hour. But honestly, all in all, I think they do a good job getting people through. Usually takes us about an hour to to get from landing to the front door at TTR.
Why does it take so long to get out of Cancun airport?? I can understand why it takes longer to check in these days with higher security and all ... But why so long to get out at Cancun now...? Unless the last couple of times we went recently we arrived along with other flights and it is just .. `Luck of the draw` ....:icon_cry:
We have used carry on only for all three of our trips. Makes it pretty easy. Had a guy get the red light right in front of me one year. Felt pretty safe then, wonder if it ever hits twice in a row?
My wife and I are traveling flying out of Tijuana so we have to do the customs thing when we cross over from San Diego. Anyone here ever done that. Will we have to experience customs again in Cancun or will it be like flying domestic in the USA where you just go to baggage claim?
Have to agree, when we get in on an earlier flight it always is a breeze. The later afternoon flights always seem to be a pain in the ass.
