We just got back... I was sick half the trip, but think it was more due to heat exhaustion, drinking too much and lack of sleep. Word of advice: ask front desk for a good bed... Our bed this time was like sleeping on bricks!!
I heard a few people were sick and or not feeling well but you have to really take into consideration a lot of variablesā¦ Drinking all day and into the night. Not drinking enough water. Being out in the sun all day doing the above. Lack of sleep. Bad room choice - want good sleep? Don't be near the bars. Eating the midnight burgers on the Patio after all of the aboveā¦ sounds good but watch it! I agree with GNS above, get a good bed! We switched rooms and the king we got had a nice pillow top that was really comfortable and made a huge difference. You may not get results to just ask but when you check in you can ask to see the room or you can ask to move to another if one is available.
We just got back. Neither of us got sick. We drank all day and partied all night. We were very careful not to drink the pool water. If water was splashed in our drink, we got a new one. We think it helped keep us from getting sick. We only heard on one person who felt bad (that wasn't self inflicted) for about a day.
That may have been me. I woke in the night with abdominal cramps and diahorreah. The cramps were exactly like those I've had in Turkey and Tunisia and it's always been blamed on the pools in the past. No need for the doctor, a quick walk over the road to the pharmacy got the antibiotics and painkillers. 12 hours later I felt better and 24 hours later I was back to normal.
The illness in April was not a 24 hour thing and not curable with meds It should not be confused with a hang over or your body flushing itself of all those slushi drinks ( not saying it was your case, just generalizing) . A lot of people were sick for over a week even with Cipro. 2 weeks in my case and down 10 p[ounds, thanks TTR . And yes I suspect the Sexy pool water. Never smelt chemicals and the water was cloudy.Things seem to have cleared up know, so no need to worry, just be careful and don't drink the pool water as you say
This is the reason we bring our own cups with lids. It helps a bit with pool water when people get splashy in the pool. The bartenders gave our cups a "shower" every morning and washed them out for us. A good tip probably helped that.
We just got back and had no problems that wasn't self induced. Everyting was most excelllllllllllent.
