Getting in shape for TTR

    I know this is an unhealthy and unconventional way to get the weight off but my during my first trip to TTR I gained 10 pounds (too many double desserts) and I wanted to avoid that this time.

    So I started the cookie diet. It was right after Christmas after all. I cut out all beverages except water and skipped all food during the day. Any time I felt like I was going to crack I ate one of the homemade cookies my family sent me. At night I had a nice healthy omelet for dinner. Lost 1/15 of my body weight and have kept it off for 4 months now. I guess starvation has it's merits.

    I have been working my ass off too!!! I really want to lose 15 so we will see!!!! We will prob be there together so we can see the progress we made and then drink it all back!! lol :ernaehrung015::aetsch004:

    Sounds good, we both want to be down another 20 lbs to 30 lbs by then too!

    Lose 15 - 20 pounds for every trip, and then gain it back. Seems innevitable. 5 pounds into the losing side again. See everyone in 15....

    We've both been working on improving our overall eating habits. She started dieting in January after she saw pics of herself from Christmas. She's always had weight issues due to genetics, diabetes and a thyroid issue. The cards were just always stacked against her. She's been working out 4-5 days a week on the treadmill, doing Wii fit and a few other things plus eating better. We've cut carbs almost out totally at home and started eating better overall . She's now down 30 lbs since January but has about another 30-45 to go. She looks so much better now and has lots more energy.

    For myself, evening sports for one of the kids and evening international business meetings has made it tough for me. I've dropped about 5 lbs but overall am happy. If I'd give up my evening long island ice tea I'd probably lose 20 by our arrival in June :) I'll never have those 6 pack abs and am personally happy with my mini-keg!

    Yep, we are both getting in shape for our trip. Definitely want to look our best!

    Just started the P90X and it is kicking my ass!!!! So worth it though!

    i`ve started doing some cycling on top of my gym and has helped me a lil so hopefully be looking good for trip

    Cycling is what I love the most! I'm charting my rides with iMapmyRide, and we are both doing the Hundred Pushups program. I am probably going to start the 200 Situps program this weekend. Oh, my aching muscles! My bike is in the shop today anyway, so can't ride until tonight, but kinda glad for a day off!

    Cycling is such a great way to work out. We love it too. Of course the tan lines on me (Kathleen) are less than flattering but I guess that's why the beauty industry continues to develop new ways to get great fake tans.
