Back in the real world; I pay £££ for a product, I am entitled to a product, or an equal or superior product. Desire / Pearl here we come...... :daisy:
There are no accidental over bookings in today's computer age Basically they have 3 or four resorts and they will fill them one way or another. Instead of loosing a sale they will sale you a room knowing they don't have it.Your in Mexico , were will you go ? Just my feelings on the subject.
How much bearing does the timing of one's booking (I booked on 2/8) have on the chances of getting bumped, or is is completely random? For that matter, doe the fact that I'm single put me more at risk for being bumped? Thanks!
I would say that arrival time at the hotel would be a significant factor regarding being bumped or not.
Thanks Bart! Since my flight doesn't arrive until 5:15 on Sunday evening, that's going to increase my chance of being bumped (even if I paid a premium for a deluxe jacuzzi suite?) Welcome to "Resort Roulette"...where you too might end up with gaggle of screaming rugrats...spin the wheel!
THIS POST WAS FROM MATCHANDAHALFs VIRGIN APRIL TRIP 2012!!.. I posted on the April Roll Call this morning about bumping in April, but thought perhaps not many people will be checking in there so i'm posting again here where the thread actually has "bumped" in the title. I just came back from TTR, and while I was there I did not hear of a single April Addict getting bumped at any time in April. We checked in late at night (midnite), and the resort was overbooked several nights from the 12th to the 21st (although not on our first night). So the bumping situation does not appear to be a significant problem that you should waste time worrying about as you head off to TTR. I'm sure it occurs, but from what I can tell from this past month, it is not frequent even during peak times at the resort.
I would say you have about a zero chance of being bumped from a jacuzzi suite. No way does the hotel want to lose that revenue.
