Thanks for posting this!! Yesterday I called TTR and found out they had all of my info & received a confirmation # from them....mistakenly thought that meant all was well. Called after reading this to find out exactly what you stated..."Confirmed Reservation, but NO PAYMENT RECEIVED". Immediately called Fun & Sun, got the same story as the rest of you. I requested an email confirmation regarding my refund while I was on the phone, which I did receive. Now, hopefully there will be no delay in actually receiving the $$. Basically, it sucks, but all will be ok as long as I get my money back in time to book with a REPUTABLE company.....yes, Steve, we should've listened! Hope to see some of you there....now time to search and bake!! Happy Thanksgiving!!
Same for us!!! Aaarrrggg! We thought that since the resort had our confirmation number we were good to go. Just called F&S and cancelled. Rebooking through someone else!
Best of luck! I spent the past 1 1/2 hours on the phone trying to get info from them and trying to get a hold of "Jude". He would not take my call and after a lengthly discussion and being put on hold many time this was the resolve. "Sir, I have been instructed by management to no longer continue this conversation and any of the information I have given you is all you are going to get. We are considering this matter over and donre with seeing as though you have been credited and your reservation has been cancelled." Now here is what I do know. -F&S getaways is a subsidiary company of IMS Vacations which is not BBB accredited. -According to the BBB, on their site, there is listed the owners & directors names of the company. -Customer service is based in the Philipines -Offices are based in Florida(address is on the BBB site under IMS vacation) -Legal notices towards the company can be sent to a PO BOX 695 Natchitoches, La. 71458 According to the BBB there are no legal issues with the company from a government standpoint. Unless we contact the Dept of Commerce( in Florida and in Louisiana) and also the state attorney general( for both as well) they will be able to continue these practices and keep screwing people over.
I love that they seem annoyed by your persistence. So how do we all file complaints with the BBB so they appear when others look for fun and sun in the future? If you can provide that info that will help. Also the more people that post on sites like ripoff report the clearer to people in the future it will be that the company is at fault and there isn't just one or two disgruntled customers that had an isolated issue. With only a couple complaints it can be taken that way but with all of us posting there will be no doubt.
I have filed a report with Rip Off Report and even attached the screen shot ,, showing the $99 and the PER ROOM NOT PER PERSON line Also them misrepresenting themselves as TTR
I am SO SO SO sorry for everyone.I did not book through cos one need to be resident in the US to book throught their website. I sincerely hope you are all able to find an alternative way to book. xoxo
Just a hunch, here is what they are probably doing. Keep in mind TTR is probably not the only resort they are reselling for. They offer sales, people pay and are immediately charged. They won't actually perform the confirmed booking until the point where they have to. Their hope is TTR (or other resorts) have a sale to where what you paid is more then what the resort is charging. Much like a hedge fund, they are playing a game where the gains are greater to off-set any losses plus make a profit. or... they have a serious cash flow problem... Either way it is a shady practice. This might sway some to becoming members. No mess, no stress.
Now time to start shopping again,, May go in May instead rates seem to be better and better for my friend too
Was holding off to call Fun and Sun about our April reservations hoping something would work out. Just called and got the same as everyone else, our reservation has been cancelled. While on the phone with them they sent us an e-mail confirming it. They did say verbally that the refund would take 3-5 buisness days to show up. Like the rest of ya, we are now looking at the prices again.
