Lol ya us being newbies didn't realize all our options when we booked and since we decided we were going with friends rather last minute ... so to speak ... (didn't want the prices going up any higher), we took this price as it had already gone up 200 since we first started to look. Shoulda came on here BEFORE we looked at booking! LOL Might have saved us some bucks ..... newbie lesson learned! We are actually flying United Airlines instead of westjet, aircanada or sunquest,
If you have an American layover on the way back prepare to do Immigration in the USA and then Canada, and usually have to check and recheck luggage. Careful buying duty free.
Got stuck with united airlines last year will never do layovers again. total bull. A 4-5hour flight turns into a12 hour or sometimes overnight flight. We ended up losing a day and a half off our vacation. Getting to TTR late in the day and leaving TTR at a God awful time of 6am.
When you do a Hotel /flight search United Airlines always comes up first cause its the cheapest, but not necessarily the shortest. I always click on Change flights , then sort by duration , then pick the first reasonable priced one , usually 1 to 200 more but with Air Canada or West jet. I avoid USA lay overs because of storms and Immigration issue
we were susposed to be on direct flights but Sunquest Cancelled everyones packages last May Because they Did not have a airline contract when they sold their packages. We were left scrambling with our travel agent to re-book at last minute. Got stuck with United flights.
We waited and ended up paying $400 more for crappier flights. I just got an American Express card and could books for the same dates (this monday to Sunday) for $500 cheaper through amex site (and that's last minute!) - but we're already locked in with orbitz. Although I may be able to afford April vacation....
