We book through Delta Vacations... Direct flights from Minneapolis and we always price match. Sarah and I both have the AMEX Delta cards and we get awesome treatment. They will price match any travel site and have been really cheap both years... This year with our flight included we are paying $1900 per couple and that includes ground transfers. Thats for 7 days and 6 nights. To be honest... The prices will go up as long as we keep telling our friends to go... Until more resorts open that meet or beat TTR, they will be able to charge a premium.
It's completely sold out thru March so it's a sellers market, but I think GOV will give them some competition once they get the wheels rolling, maybe they will have price wars???
Trying to get to Cancun from Kelowna, BC, Canada is expensive. Since the only airline that flies direct is Westjet, all the other tour companies (Sunwing etc.) if they offer direct flights at all, is on the same Wesjet plane. When we were shopping for our flights, the best price I found for flight only for 2 was $2010 return. Since there are only 2 flights a week from Kelowna to Cancun and back, there are only so many seats so you almost never see any deals. We used Airmiles to book this flight ($430 in taxes) and used a free week and paid our member rate for 3 days ($163usd per night) for this trip. When we bought our membership in 2011, we had planned to go to TTR Cabo a lot as flights were shorter and cheaper for us there but then they changed to Desire now it's gone altogether. Anyone want to buy a membership cheap?
Sorry to here that . A story told many time on here about Cabo. It was a nice resort for fall travel to avoid hurricanes
Well, thanks to a tip here, we used Orbitz instead of Expedia for our travel this year. Orbitz price ended up being $1000 cheaper (!), and much closer to what we paid last year. I don't know what's going on, but something is weird. Hotels.com is even more expensive than Expedia.
We paid $3327 CAD for 1 week for the both of us in a jacuzzi room April 17 - 24. That's flights and hotel ... usually Saskatchewan is one of the most expensive places to fly into or out of so i thought these prices were OK. We are newbies and thought what the hell why not get the jacuzzi, it was only a few $'s more ... We took the 1 connecting flight both ways too as it was cheaper than the direct flight. We are RCI members and never even thought of looking to see if Temptations was an option for us (which it was ... but to late for us to try and take advantage of it) ... It's usually the airfare that kills us here in the prairies ... We booked through expedia.ca, but those that collect airmiles, you can redeem them for gift vouchers for Marlin Travel and they will accept up to $400/pp off your trip so possibly a savings of $800 off your trip.
Last May we paid $1091 each total of $2300.00 For 7 nights for oceanview and flight, Which I been told was an amazing deal. Would have been Cheaper but Sunquest screwed us by cancelling all their sold packages and we had to re-book with Someone else. Next time try and upgrade at the resort usually you can barter with them for Cheaper then online price.
