My first trip was when TTR was Bluebay Getaway...so I just told the family we were going to BB and left it at that. The next trip, it slipped that we were headed to TTR. My brother-in-law had the idea that it was a 100% swinger resort and told me that at the end of each night everyone puts their room key in a fish bowl and couples just went to whatever room they pulled out. "Interesting idea" I said, but told him it's way more fun to get 5 couples in the same room. He didn't ask any more questions.
When we went for the first time last year we weren't quite sure where to tell people were we staying, but ended up telling them TTR. We got a few wise comments from some, but told them we were going to try the place out anyways. That didn't surprise our friends as they think we are a little off the wall sometimes. Since our first trip we now brag about the place and the people we have met. Halloween will be our third trip since last March and we are bringing at least one newbie couple so far. Working on a few more but time and the kids thing is tough for some.
At this point in our life we could care less of anyones opinion of where we go or what we do! We tell everyone Temptation if they form a certain opinion so be it...it's our time to really enjoy life ! Can I get an amen !!?? Lol
I will never lie about who I am. Family is just an accident of birth. If you're pretending to be someone you aren't for the benefit of friends and family, how genuine are their feelings for you? They love the someone that you AREN'T! Be true to yourself, celebrate your adult human nature and freedoms and if they choose to leave you then they don't appreciate the real "you," anyway.
LoraandDarrin, you said it really well, and I feel the same way. I'm lucky to have a husband and friends who really like my wild side. BUT... I also have a side that actually enjoys teaching kids, and in the conservative town where I live, their parents would seriously freak out if they knew I had (*gasp!*) removed my bikini top...IN PUBLIC!!!! So I can't imagine what they'd think if they heard about the really fun stuff! I bet the other teachers on here kinda feel the same way: I wish we didn't have to lead a double life and could be as carefree at home as we are at TTR. Or maybe the fact we have to button up at home is why we're the ones going buck wild once we get there?
After reading this entire thread, we are going with RIU Cancun. I guess I should look at their website to act like I know what I'm talking about
