Looks like there might a lot of first timers there during your visit! We will be first timers also, but, this is a great site to see everyone who will be party animals with us! Looking forward to meeting everyone (and you guys) there! We Newbies have to stick together! LOL Let me add: Not that any of the regulars scare us! Everyone has been super sweet and sound like a heck of a lot of fun!
What's the best, most convenient mode of transportation to and from the resort (Temptation). I'm hearing alot about USA Transfers on this board. How's the service on that? On Temptation's main site, they suggest another company, i believe. Is regular TAXI to/from the airport not recommended?
No question...go to the USA Transfer link on the main page. The taxis at the airport aren't real taxi's, but a transfer company who pays to be exclusive. Taxis are not allowed to transfer travelers from the airport. USA Transfers are the best option factoring in price and service.
Jennifer here from "Rubifer" Thanks for the suggestions regarding USA Transfers. I've seen nothing but good feedback regarding their service. Once we get to the resort, I've heard that we'll be accosted by the dreaded "timeshare lady." I've read threads from other visitors who say to avoid at all costs. I was just wondering how we know to differentiate this individual from others who might be helping us at the resort? Is this person an employee of the resort or just someone who is given permission to solicit on the grounds? Any tips or tricks to avoid this person would help. Once we arrive, would definitely like to get settled and down to unwinding as soon as we can. -Jennifer
Your check-in process will be handled by someone behind the main front desk. When you turn around, there are smaller desks that you will be directed toward before you go to your room. These desks are the sales staff selling Premier Memberships for Temptation and other resorts. If you know that you have no interest in dropping 5 to 30 grand on future vacations...DO NOT accept an invitation from them for a tour and lunch or breakfast. They may try to trick you into the tour and sales presentation...a firm "no" repeated once and ignoring them after that is our approach. Others say that you're on a business trip with your mistress...kind of funny and creative.
The Quest for a Pool Chair….. So we've read some issues in regards to getting a chair by the "Sexy Pool", to the point where guests are quite serious about this and have been getting up early to "claim" chairs…. possibly leading to "confrontations". Is this scenario pretty much as described on other threads, or is it a bit of an exaggeration? Not that I really need a place to sit down, but a spot to leave my towel would be nice.
just learn to share you can have 4+ CCC members sharing 1 chair just too put their stuff as the rest of the time yr ass will be in the pool.
I think actual confrontations are rare...but if you don't have a chair, and you want one, and the sun is already up...it's probably too late. We usually split our time between being in the water and actually using our chairs. Many people save a chair all day just to keep flip flops and a towel in...and that's where some get upset.
