There's a very bald guy who works in there that normally knows the most about what's on, i have no idea what his name is. Feel free to pop in, I know for certain they are showing the boxing live at 9pm as they have a big poster outside but not sure on the UFC yet.
If he's not, go for the most important/intelligent looking person in there, the waiters can sometimes be a little unhelpful.
Sam, I went by twice, once at 2:30, and once at 6:30: "baldy" wasn't there, but Jorge Alvarez, who said he was the manager, said they weren't going to be showing it.
Ahhh the typical 'we're not showing it' La Taberna response, yes i've had a few of those, looks like we'll have to do some 'convincing' when we get there, it's not like they a) don't have spike TV and b) can't afford to show a free-to-air replay. TJ, i think i'll need your best stern Spanish on this one and failing that, feel free to 'throw an elbow'. Look for the people cramped in the corner with the smallest TV (that has sound and picture interference from the dripping air con above), see you at 8 :?
CAN'T DECIDE WHICH TO WATCH Hell, it sounds like the fight action may be better on the floor of La Taberna, than in the ring! Too bad I can't be there, myself, Saturday night, but you've made this sound like it's worth taking in, Sam, just to see you old regulars go at it with truculent wait staff. V.
