We have a condo in a small complex in Puerto Morelos. There is not a HOA and some of the owners feel they don't have to pay the monthly maintenance fee(some for years) Has anyone have been in this situation? How is this handled in Cancun if someone refuses to pay? what does it take to form an HOA? any suggestions for a management company? Thank you in advance!
You should have an administrator for the complex who runs things such as collecting maintenance fees, arranging repairs etc. They are the ones who should contact the delinquient owners. And be prepared for a lenghty (years) battle to get the maintenance fees back from those who do not wish to pay. The attorney is the only one who will benefit in this case based on the fees they can charge to collect the delinquient fees.
