I am sorry, girlfriend...I cannot help you. Mine were beautiful and done very professionally at a top rated salon in Las Vegas. I just couldn't stand not "cleaning" off my eye make-up or avoiding water, soap, oils, etc...I "cleaned" them off after 24 hours.

Maybe Karen can give you some tips.

Glad you were happy with your lashes! Your tech was probably not very experienced, as the longer the "installation" takes, the less experience it seems.

Not that this will help you with your upcoming trip, but I had my eyeliner (and lipcolour) micropigmented (essentially tattoed) before I started getting eyelash extensions, so I don't ever have to bother with it and I can roll out of bed and go! I had it done to look like I have half worn-off lipstick, so I add some tinted lip balm or gloss at night to deepen the colour, and that's it. Just lip balm in the daytime. Was one of the best things I ever did, as I have thin, liver-coloured lips naturally and very little natural colour in my face, so I looked very washed out without lipstick. Now I am free from the "Tyranny of the Lipstick"! I add a little extra eyeliner to go out at night, but nothing for the daytime. Really great for the humidity of Cancun, and the sexy pool!

I guess you will have to go with non-waterproof eye makeup for your trip, or (gasp) let your eyeliner wear off instead of removing it every night.

Thanks again for the tips! The lashes don't hit my sunglasses but they are hitting my real glasses. Good thing I really only have to wear real glasses at the movies and when watching tv!

I am totally going to have subtle eyeliner done with permanent makeup - have been wanting to do that a long time.

So this is me after I had the eyelash extensions in April, a few days before we left for Cancun

And this is me after I picked them off and just have mascara on

This is kind of normally what my eyes look like with just using the lash enhancing gel to make them ever just so slightly longer - I don't have a lot of close up pics of me, this is with my daughter (and she has amazing eyes without doing anything!)

And this is why I want permanent makeup - because my eyes are lost in my face with no eye makeup

I will never get the extensions again, but I would love to find someone who can do a lash perm that looks like the subtle curl from an eyelash curler - and can make the side lashes fan out, instead of pointing up. The lash perm would be the lessor of all evils if done right!

Shelly, the gal that did my permanent liner is the best in Vancouver, and has done eye and lip liner for many of my friends. I'll give you her info if you don't find anyone in Seattle that you feel confident trying. You could drive up in the morning and be back home in the evening. It does require a touch up application in the next several months afterward, so you'd have to drive up twice.

Shelly, you and your daughter are both gorgeous!

For the curls, Christian Dior makes a heated eyelash curler. It's about $30 at Sephora and it can do the curl/fan thing in about 20 seconds without pinching or chemicals. I absolutely love it!

I just heard about the heated curler and how amazing it is the other day at work. I have to get one.

Shelly, your pics are gorgeous! No extensions needed! They looked nice, though. I loved the look of mine, too. So did Tom so I bought my own and taught myself.

By the way, I never take off my make-up before bed while at TTR. I am lucky my teeth get brushed and my retainer put in. Come morning, a hot, steamy shower from
head to toe is a requirement.

Unfortunately mine are starting to itch and I'm pretty sure they're coming off tonight. I'm at least going to see how they stand up to the baby oil I use for makeup remover, which the lash lady told me would be sudden death for the fake lashes. Oh well, I need to rub my eyes!

They are pretty high maintenance. Have Ryan take a pic before you use baby oil. I go through gallons of baby oil as I use it over my whole body and have every single day since I was 17. It will be the demise of your butterfly kisses with your glasses.

    You are gorgeous without extensions.

Safe travels and see you next week!

Karen, I will totally take you up on that. We will contact you when we head up that way, and also when I can make an appt. I would rather have it done from someone with a personal reference!

I use the heated lash curler, got it from Sephora. It works, but not if the lashes get wet. The lash perm that I want would be perfect for TTR in the pool!
