Hi guys . We were having a debate over favourite films and I recalled a film I saw when I was younger lol . It revolves around a plane that crashed in the desert . It was ww2 and black and white the result was in the end after a good storyline and personal insight the so called survivors were in fact dead and started to disappear as their bodies were found . I thought it was a great film with a good twist but can’t for the life of me recall it’s title . It was a 40s or 40s film . I have googled etc and it is not lone survivor with shatner as this was a 70s film there appears to be forum asking the same question and generally agreed it was a great movie before its time . Can anyone one help .
There are 3 Sole Survivor movies. One of them is with Shatner but another one made for CBS fits your description.

Ok guys, I remember this movie as a kid too! With much researching I think I have it. This is what I found: The title of the movie is "Sole Survivor", however there are three movies with that title. There is a "Sole Survivor" with William Shatner released in 1970. (This is not the one we are looking for!) There is also a "Sole Survivor" released in 1982 with the same kind of plot (This is not the one we are looking for either!). The "Sole Surviver" we need was a CBS made-for-TV movie. It does star Richard Basehart, Lou Antonio, Alan Caillou, Larry Casey, Brad David, Vince Edwards, and directed by Paul Stanley. There are more details below if the link works: I am trying to name a film but no movie databases has the answer. A plane has crashed and the cast of the film turn out to be ghosts who ''disappear'' as their bodies are recovered. In the end there is one sole ''ghost'' until the searchers return and find his body under the tail plane. I watched that movie in my head I kept thinking it was a twilight zone ... is it the one where the guys disappear when they find the bodies and the last one almost didn't get found ..they were leaving and the guy just looks in one more place and he finds the last guy ? this one ?
