We tried watching CFL, honestly we did but as much as we would like to support a canadian team or better yet a Toronto team we just cant watch Canadian Football. We do however drink Canadian beer while watching so thats gotta count for something......well other than my more than occasional Guinness -brent-
We are torn right now trying to decide whether to head to Boston for some football for me and shopping for her or back to TTR next month. Go Pats!
I actually cannot wait until no football sunday, at the rate the panthers are sucking ass, I will need to get my blood pressure down. Friggin' pathetic idiots......
Yee Haaaa....how bout those Pats! Seeing that we are spoiled an live only 25 miles from Boston.....I still say go back to TTR.....so much more fun!
Lions? Aren't they the team that my beloved Riders beat quite convincingly last week? Playing in that monstrosity that is Skydome I can kind of see why. You have to see a good game in say Regina or Calgary to really enjoy a good CFL game. I've also had a chance to see both varieties in person and honestly do like the CFL version better. The game flows much more smoothly as there aren't nearly as many commercial breaks. But that's just me.
Bush league Canadian football. Where you have no yards penalities, points for missed field goals (if ball is unreturnable) and my personal fave. . . . .no punting in overtime. A game wrapped in a flag and government subsidized under some twisted cultural dogmatic logic. Bogus ball.
Haha the first of all the government doesn't subsidize the CFL, it has sponsored or loaned in the past though. No yards penalties are better than, yawn touch backs. You only give up a point if you can't get the ball out (how many great missed fg td returns have we seen this year?) and the ot rules are fun and fair in my opinion, they are actually borrowed from the NCAA format mostly. Besides, who are you to tell me what type of football is fun or not fun to watch? It's only a game!
I take offense to you calling it a Bush league. CFL is a professional sports league. The main difference between the CFL and the NFL, other than a few better rules in the CFL and the field being bigger, is the amount of money the NFL spends as apposed to the CFL. And what do you mean 'twisted culture dogmatic logic'?
