I don't post here often, but I have to say good for you all that are still going. I just got back from Mexico on April 11. I had people asking me if I should be going because I might get kidnapped by drug dealers. Nevermind that I was going to Cancun, not the border. BTW, what ever happned to all that violence? The media has found a new story to scare us.

I know it would not have stopped me from going. I have to say though, I feel terrible for the people from the UK. How sad is it that you all were not even given a choice? All because the media selectively reported scary news. The shame is how many people this craziness has affected.

Also, if anyone can tell me whatever happened to the hole in the ozone layer, I'd appreciate it.

    THATS NEWS???????????????????

    oh...........

they forgot to mention the other 100 who had it and are well now

    Temptation... Here we come!

Hey there... was just watching the news... heard about the Swine Flu...anybody heard of it???

Ha ha... any way, just wanted to give my input...
The infectious disease doc at work said no worry, just practice good hygiene... you know, all the stuff we've been taught our whole lives!
Asked him if I should take any medication with me, ya know, "just in case", he scrumpled up his face and said no.

CNN this morning stated the main concern is the possible SPREAD, not the severity. Approximate death rate for flu in US is 36,000 per year.

It's crazy... three weeks ago, people were telling me not to go cause I might get my head blown off, now they are worried about me catching the FLU!!!
I work in a hospital... with SICK people... and haven't caught the flu yet!!

Anyway... we are going June 1-6... can't miss my Birthday party!
Hope to see everyone by the pool!

Just wanted to add this chart I found... crazy... I think we all have more to worry about (look at #3).

ANNUAL CAUSES OF DEATH IN THE UNITED STATES
    Tobacco 435,0001
Poor Diet and Physical Inactivity... 365,000
    Alcohol ...85,000
    Microbial Agents... 75,000
    Toxic Agents ...55,000
    Motor Vehicle Crashes ...26,347
Adverse Reactions to Prescription Drugs ...32,000
    Suicide ...30,622
    Incidents Involving Firearms... 29,000
    Homicide... 20,308
    Sexual Behaviors ...20,000 :p
All Illicit Drug Use, Direct and Indirect... 17,000
    Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs Such As Aspirin ...7,600

29 April 2009 -- The situation continues to evolve rapidly. As of 18:00 GMT, 29 April 2009, nine countries have officially reported 148 cases of swine influenza A/H1N1 infection. The United States Government has reported 91 laboratory confirmed human cases, with one death. Mexico has reported 26 confirmed human cases of infection including seven deaths. (off of WHO website :?: :?: :?: )

didnt they say a couple of days ago the numbers were in the thousands of cases in mexico city?? and like 170 deaths????

we are still going....notice that very little on the internet home pages. msn only had one link that was about swine flu scams......

also closing businesses for 5 days in mexico i think is only in mexico city, but not sure

we just returned from Temptation 1 week ago and we are fine! had a great trip and fun booze cruise with steve. we didn't know about the swine flu until we returned! as others have said our family was worried about the problems with the drug wars too.
i think the media takes any new story and runs crazy with it.....
i do feel for people who have lost someone to this flu so don't want to make light of it but if you're careful i think you'll be safe.
who knows something else big could be brewing at anytime without us being aware of it. we need to continue to enjoy life but just be careful!
