We too had an awful experience with TC, we also had a 24 hour delay, no communication whilst it was happening and when we finally boarded and got into our exit row seats were handed a pair of socks each as "it may be a little cool sat here today" freezing for 10 hours was not a bunch of fun! Thankfully EU261 was our friend. If you don't know about it, it's regulation that allows passengers to claim for excessive delays on flights either originating or ending in the EU. For a flight of this length a delay of over 4 hours that is the airlines fault compensation of €600 per person is due. You can also claim back as far as 6 years if you have some basic documents. So if you haven't already done so, check it out as you may find it will pay for your new flights with Virgin
You don't get drinks with premier seats at the moment but we are flying in May and they have changed the premier package from May so hopefully it will be all good for us
hi guys we go out on the 6th oct -20th we booked with kenwood paid £2400 and fly with virgin thay say it much better .
:deadhorse: Guys just check it out coz I'm sure u also now get 30kg of luggage allowance and as from 1st May sure drinks are included. LUCKY PEOPLE. TC have have now told us that the flight going out is a plane they would use for a European flight, the 1 with the TV monitors in then roof in aisle, good job TTR is worth it or I would have told them 2 stick it up there arse, 11hr flight is bad enough on a big plane but on a small 1 is going to make us all :banghead:
We were lucky enough to claim back £1200 which paid for us to go again this year. I just wouldnt risk it with Thomas Cook. I have a back complaint so i need the comfiest journey i can get if that makes sense and again, I just found with Virgin, It was comfier, more roomy and you could get up and down easier than TC! We flew 'Premier' with Thomas Cook going out for our honeymoon. (A free upgrade was what they offered us to compensate a little for being so utterly sh!t with the lack of communication during the dealy, and all i'll say is, it's not worth a penny. Sorry to say, the flight seat dimensions in TC's Premium cabin are the same as Virgins economy pretty much. No free drinks, still have to pay for food etc. I would have been furious if i'd have paid for it. We're still holding off booking until the New Year as 3 people have mentioned they sometimes have Boxing Day/New Year sales. Fingers crossed! Otherwise we'll just bite the bullet and book!
Flights We've booked with TravelBag for 2015, flights with B.A. out of Gatwick. Done as a package, so have ABTA cover if anything goes wrong, better than booking components separately. They had some good prices back in September, worth checking out. Done T.C twice, out of Manchester no problems at all and got upgraded to premium on two of our flights. If interested in using T.C. check Caribbean Warehouse (division of Co-Op, they have some excellent prices on selected weeks) :cheerleaders:
